I almost feel guilty raving about this place because even though Egyptians know about it and have been coming for decades, there are relatively few foreign tourists. This has allowed Marsa Matruh to retain its unique cultural authenticity, with its delightful Bedouin hospitality and scrupulously honest people. I hope it won't be invaded soon by too many foreign tourists. Avoid coming in July and August. The best months are May, early June, September and October. Great city , especially it is small and you can go any place in max 30 min with car all water sports are there in other beaches i recommend to just rent the best clean place and buy all you stuff from the city it self even the food if this is okay for you Marsa mtroh is good cozy small place , very calm , sea is perfect

Marsa Matruh itself which is 35km from the hotel we were staying at is a den for Islamic fundamentalists, salafis and moslem brotherhood. It is not a place to be visited. Jazz hotel is in Almaza Bay which is totally separate from Marsa Matruh.DinaEgypt

You can go directly to the beach behind the hotel after breakfast. The manager and the staff are all very nice. We arrived late at 20:30 that day but they still help us with our luggages and provided with us great dinner. Will definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.
