My stay at the Finca La Piedra was perfect for what I was looking for on my trip to Alora. Jane was the perfect host and a vital source of information for a non Spanish speaker. Furthermore the duck eggs as a 'welcome pack' tasted amazing.

very traditional whitewashed villge come small town.
very traditional whitewashed villge come small town. A couple of interesting historic sites. Doesn't really cater for tourists in the evenings - takeaway or chinese is about it. Transport needs to be looked at carefully so you don't get stuck somewhere you can't easily get back from.

We booked for a week, but if staying longer, would have travelled further afield by train, to see more of the area. Plenty taxis nearby to get to and from the railway station. Alora is a hilly village, we took a taxi up to the Castle and walked back. Went to the bakers every morning for fresh bread, and the various fruit shops to get our fruit, and two quite big well stocked supermarkets, and a butcher shop

Alora is quite Hilly but manageable.
Alora is quite Hilly but manageable. We ate ar Bar Marin (great for Seafood) - check opening days, we also ate at Casa Abilio which was amazing.
The large Mercadona supermarket in town is big enough for all food shopping requirements - careful driving into and out of the underground car park.
Getting to the Caminito del rey if you have a hire car is a doddle - book tickets in advance from the official website. This website also has great advice https://anywhereweroam.com/caminito-del-rey/
Ronda is an hour in the car and worth a day trip - we ate at and would recommend Pura Cepa.
We also did the wine tasting in Alora with www.bodegasperezhidalgo.es - email them to make a booking.

It is a lovely town, with stunning views from all round, but especially from the castle. I stayed there in order to do the Caminito del Rey which was wonderful and Alora is a perfect place to stay to do that. The people in the town are friendly and it is very safe. There are lots of shops, banks, cafes bars and restaurants.

Little village, a small drive from el camito del rey.
Little village, a small drive from el camito del rey. Some nearby roads are unpaved but can be driven with a normal car which is not a 4x4. Peace and quite !
There is one restaurant that opens every day, the other had meals at lunch time, but in the evening was a bingo !
The lift provided access that wouldn't have been possible using stairs. It is the main reason we chose this location. The view from the terrace was amazing. The hosts communicated clearly and often to make sure everything went smoothly. Having "start up" food and beverages saved us from having to immediately shop. The apartment itself was well furnished and clean. The hosts provided a binder of important information about the apartment that was very helpful. We enjoyed our 4 days in Alora, and at this apartment.
The accomodation had everything and more for a lovely stay, looking at the photos beforehand we thought it must be too good to be true, but was amazing, so classy, comfortable, spacious, and very well equipped. Lovely panoramic views from the room terrace, and in the centre of the lovely village of Alora, we felt so safe and secure. Travelled from Malaga airport by train to Alora station then a short taxi ride to the village
The home and the grounds were beautiful, the outdoor shower was fun and invigorating. Liz was an amazing hostess, great conversationalist and her breakfasts were amazing!
We were also impressed with the pueblo of Alora and the whole surrounding area. Centrally located within one hour drive of many activities and points of interest. We had a great time in Setenil de Bodegas, Ronda and Caminito del Rey hike.
Very clean and comfortable apartment, all facilities were perfectly fine, TV and wi-fi work perfectly, no problems with hot water, all in all a very nice accommodation. The location is good, although not so easy (but not impossible) to find a parking place for a car so I guess we’d need to use the parking provided by the owner for 5€/day which we definitely will do our next time in Álora.

A lovely oasis in Alora, close to el Caminito del Rey, Ronda and not too far from the coast. Very accommodating host, offering a great breakfast and even menu options during the day for those who want a pool day. Rooms are a nice size and very quiet and peaceful at night. Easy parking on site and easy to find. Beautiful sunsets - Highly recommended!
The location is perfect, very quiet.
About 8-10 minutes by car to supermarket (Mercadona) in Álora. One hour drive to El Torcal and half an hour drive to Caminito del Rey and lake district.
Pool is small but nice! Especially after a day of hiking.
The host is very nice and friendly!
The location was perfect. Facility located on a hill. The kitchen very well equipped. We ate our meals on the terrace with a great view. Close to the town of Alora worth visiting and the Caminito del rey. Hosts very nice and hospitable. We highly recommend this place to everyone.
We had a great stay at B&B Cortijo Vista Alora. The rooms are comfortable and well-designed, with modern fittings. The B&B also has a nice poolside area where we enjoyed a great breakfast every day. Hanneke was a terrific host, very responsive and clear with her communication.
Our hostesses made us feel right at home. The place is so beautiful and peaceful.
We wanted to eat dinner in the town of Alora and our hostess drove us to drop us off town to eat We walked back. It was so nice. If I could put higher than five stars, I would!
This was incredible value for money and very pleasant indeed with very friendly and helpful hosts. Located just off one of the main squares in very lovely Alora. I didn't have breakfast but I saw it being delivered to the room next door and it looked wonderful!
The location is perfect for Caminito del Rey walk.
The apartment is in the centre of the beautiful town of Alora.
Free parking is availble in a communal carpark a few hundred meters away.
The apartment itself was great. Well kitted out and everything worked.
Very quirky, lovely building and superb, friendly staff. Excellent food too (evening main courses only - but delicious). Very convenient for Alora Rail Station too. Continental breakfast also very good. Good selection of Belgian beers - always a bonus IMHO!
The apartment and Alora in general are wonderful. The communication and instructions via WhatsApp were flawless and we really enjoyed our stay. The apartment had everything we needed and a bit more 😊 The balcony and the views are awesome 💎
Very clean and calm place. The decoration of the villa is thought out to the smallest detail. There is everything you need for a good rest of your body and mind. Thaks for a time spent in a great place Alora.
I loved everything about this property.
Jenny was lovely!
The Casita was comfortable and beautiful.
Wished we could have stayed longer.
Would love to come back when they have renovated the small hotel.
Very spacious and comfortable house. The host were very friendly and flexible. The roof terrace is a real winner with beautiful views of Álora and its castle. Easy distance to El Caminito del Rey.
