Great for families with children or beginners in general.
Great for families with children or beginners in general. Lots of offer for beginners and also good for advanced skiers, but beginners have a big separate area that is very safe for first times. Also, excellent teachers at the Escuela de Esquí Candanchu. They are very good with children. If you are looking for lively apres-ski, better to stay in Jaca. However, Candanchu is the perfect place to avoid hassle in the morning, right by the slopes, good facilities and fun. You can pop down to Jaca in the evenings if looking for other activities (ice skating, visiting the Citadelle, the cathedral, good restaurants, etc).

Lots of history and you can feel the pioneering spirit from all those years ago. Right on the border of Spain and France - stop off on the summit/pass and take some photos. The dinner was great also, would surely recommend it. Unfortunately, the Candanchú Ski Resort was closed in late December due to the lack of snow, but the Astun Ski Resort was partially open and it was just a 3km ride from the hotel.

The super kind staff, the well equipped rooms, the views from the room, the breakfast buffet, even the picnic bag that can be ordered for a hiking day, everything was fantastic!
