Spacious room. We liked having access to outside sitting area and picnic tables and lime and lemon trees. Great on site parking. Shower had excellent water pressure. Beds were comfortable. Management was courteous, and efficient. We enjoyed his humour.

We loved Cudillero.
We loved Cudillero. We only had 3 nights but that was not enough. We could easily have stayed for a week as there was so much to do. We explored the village by foot, we ate in many of the wonderful seafood restaurants (Recommend El Remo and Isabel), we bought groceries and shopped and we drove to several nearby Sandy beaches. We went for a drive to the valley of the bears which was very picturesque. However there are also many lovely cities close by that we ran out of time to visit like Oviedo. There was also a rail trail in the Valley of the bears that we would like to come back and do as it looked like a stunning ride.

54 steps from street level to 2nd floor room.
54 steps from street level to 2nd floor room. I am 84 and my wife is 76; she has a mobility problem. No mention was made of the steep climb. I should have asked, maybe, but we do not normally have problems with a reasonable number of stairs.
Car parking. A public park 12 minutes walk away is unacceptable.
The bathroom was very small.
The curtains were could not beheld back because of the 45° slope. So the windows couldn’t be opened. It was over 30° when were there. The curtains had to be close at night as there was a huge public street lamp right outside the bedroom. It was on all night. There was also a public path right outside the bedroom.

Cudillero is a delightful little town with a gorgeous fishing harbor, tourists on summer weekends, a couple of pleasant walks (one with an amazing view of the harbor and the ocean), a few restaurants, and a very pretty 2-star hotel named La Casona de Pio. We enjoyed fresh fish at the Casa de Julio. We also had an excellent lunch at El Cafe del Faro, right next to our hotel.

I was there for 2 days. Way too long. Half a day would do it.
Food is very expensive in the restaurants. The idea being that seafood direct from the Cantabrian sea is expensive, but I'd have thought the lack of transport costs would make it cheaper than in Madrid, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

A lovely little fishing port.
A lovely little fishing port. Plenty of restaurants serving local food, which were still open in October when we went.
Lovely for a walking holiday (as long as you have strong legs as it's all steep hills!).
You want to go to Cudillero for...Cudillero, not for the posh hotel! So this makes perfect sense: it's basic but clean, it's less than 10' walk from the main square and it's reasonably priced. The manager is a very nice guy that will point you towards the best value for money places. Everything else is up to your level of fitness as the village is small but challenging to visit, with all those steps to climb to reach the miradores.
We came across this hotel while looking for a place to stay during our road-trip through Asturië. The personal gave us a very warm welcome and told us about all the beautiful hotspots in the area. The hotel rooms where brand new, very luxurious, clean and the breakfast was amazing. Price quality ratio is really good so don’t hesitate and book this hotel.
Kind regards,
Steffie Hurks.
The fisherman’s cottage was an over and cozy place to stay in Cudillero. It was cozy and the view from the apartment was so picturesque. Manuela our host made every effort to make our stay so enjoyable, The bed was the best we had stayed in so far. The fact that there three flights in the building did not bother us in the least and we are seniors.
There’s a common terrace area outside each room where chairs and table are set up for each room. They have foam mattresses which were great for sleeping. If you have a car, it’s about 3km to Cudillero where there are lots of dining options. There’s a restaurant nearby within walking distance (but we opted to walk to Cudillero). Great value.
What a hidden gem! This is one of the nicest properties we’ve ever stayed at, and probably the least expensive. Huge room, very comfortable bed, great shower. Breakfast for 10€ was excellent. Wonderful and helpful staff. A few miles down the road is the very picturesque village of Cudillero. Fun place to visit. We can’t wait to return.
What a great place with comfy beds and amazing, courteous staff. I highly recommend taking breakfast here. It was fantastic, made to order and very healthy. it is walking distance to Cudillero, 20 min down, and a bit more going up :). A great walk. then you can take the elevator up to your room!
This hotel was exactly what you would expect for a €71 per night room. It was clean and bed was comfy ( very firm which seems to be the case across Spain generally- I like a firm mattress but I note others have commented on “ hard beds” both here and in other hotels in Spain).
I had a very pleasant stay atvthis charming hotel on the outskirts of Cudillero. The room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable and the owner very nice and helpful. There's a lovely private terrace and the surroundings are very peaceful.
Great little boutique hotel in a very pretty fishing village. The staff were really helpful with recommendations but a special thanks to Paula in particular who was so friendly and engaged and ensured our stay was wonderful.
This is a unique and beautiful hotel - in an incredibly unique village right on the water. The hotel was cozy and staff were lovely. The breakfast was excellent and well worth it! Wish we had stayed longer.
We stayed one night at the hotel and had a very comfortable stay. The rooms were clean and spacious. A short drive down to the town and then a walk down to the old harbour.
The view to town, Cudillero, from top of the hill where house is located.Apt. was shiny clean, very beautifully decorated with everything you might need! Will return!!
We liked the location, with a stiff walk down into town. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were pleasant and the parking was free on hotel grounds.
