The nicely renovated rural house. A family owned and operated with the family rite on site. The dining and restaurant were a distinctly positive experience. We enjoyed some of the best food of our entire stay in Spain. Some delicious and creative offerings. The family were very attentive and supportive.

The patio area was very nice plus there were clothes lines for drying clothes- Camino laundry. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The dinner menu was okay and we enjoyed our dinner.

Marcello was a wonderful host. Staying here was a highlight of the Camino where you meet other pilgrims around a lovely 3 course Italian meal cooked by the host. Strongly recommend to get a more rustic Camino experience.

This house used to below to a priest, and then rebuilt in 2006. It was full of history.

I’ve walked the Camino 5 times and always stayed in private accommodations. Many have been quite nice at my (not high) budget. This apartment, I would have to say, was the nicest of all. I arrived on a rainy day and walked into a very warm and welcoming apartment. The owners had thought of every possible way to make me (at least) happy. Some foods were provided and with food I carried, I was able to put together dinner and breakfast easily. Lots of radiators for heat and drying clothes. Very quiet place, I couldn’t have been happier. The next morning the weather was awful. It was incredibly difficult to leave such comfort and perfection.

The friendliness, and hospitality was unbelievable! Personal attention is an understatement. The chef made both a beautiful chicken curry dish and a vegetarian dish upon our arrival. We forgot our walking sticks and Gustav was kind enough to drive them out to us on the Camino. I wish we could have stayed longer to visit with the horses and other animals.

El balneario y el masaje del peregrino, maravilloso
HORRIBLE HOTEL. INFESTED WITH BED BUGS AND NO HEATER IN ROOM. AWFUL SERVICE. NO ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE IN TIMES OF NEED. DISGRACE TO THE CITY. HOPE THE CITY SHUTS THIS HOTEL DOWN.
WHEN YOU CALL THE FRONT DESK, THERE IS NO ONE AVAILABLE AND WHEN YOU CALL ON THE CELL PHONE, THEY SAY HEATER IS BROKEN OR MUNCIPALITY DOES NOT ALLOW HEATERS TO BE TURND ON IN ROOMS.

Of all our stops on the Camino from Sarria to here (...
Of all our stops on the Camino from Sarria to here (currently in Melide), Palas de Rei was the least interesting or exciting. Still, it had hidden gems in a hostal we found to eat dinner (there are not a lot of options) and returned for breakfast on our way out. Also, the laundry mat was a big plus and the driers worked really well. Dried a lot of clothes for 3 euros. Just have to ask around for change. The bar next door and the grocery store behind were so helpful.

A great place to stay, relax , have a well earned siesta after long walk from Portmarin 24.6 kms + Probably quieter in October when we visited but still found a good restaurant "Meson a Forxa" and had a delicious meal after 7 - early for Spanish but filled up rapidly . Lots of Camino walkers took break here.

Restaurants are very good and reasonably priced. 10 euros are enough for a person per day to be happy and even to try a milk sucking lamb baked in owen.

Small interesting town on the camino trail route (St James), not a lot to see but a good selection of bars and restaurants.
A few shops selling all sorts of things, so you could find what you need if required.
We had such an amazing stay here with Umberto and Miguel. The hotel is a beautiful remodeled rectory. We were walking the Camino with a group of 10 people. The Camino passes right by the hotel, and it is peaceful and quiet and quite luxurious for a Camino hotel. There is bar area outside and a large comfortable living room to hang out in. The dinner was three courses and was delicious. The hosts were warm, charming, knowledgeable and made us feel as though we were guests in their home. I would come back to Spain just to stay in this hotel!
Great kitchen, dining, gathering area. Refrigerator, utensils, pots, pans, cups, and glasses. Washer, dryer, and lines to dry clothes. The sleeping area has a darkening curtain to keep the light out of your cubby. Locker inside of your sleeping area 5 euros deposit for the key. Great location. There is a great supermarket less than 5 minutes away. Very close to the Camino de Santiago, around a 10 min walk.
A really lovely little hotel. All was new and super clean. Our room on the top floor was large and airy. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and recommended a near by restaurant which was very good. The delicious breakfast consisted of locally sourced / organic ingredients.
Location close to restaurants and shops as well as town square and church. The hotel started operations on 10aug 2023 so everything was fresh and new. A basket of 4 oranges and 4 kiwis were a nice welcome gift. Receptionist is very responsive and likeable.
Generous breakfast however a machine to make hot coffee would be appreciated rather than cold coffee and cold milk in carafes for a cafe con lèche. It appears standard for pensions and hotels to have the auto machines minimally.
Spotlessly clean hotel in a quiet street but close to nearby restaurants. Very friendly, helpful and hospitable staff. Comfortable, spacious and simple room. Secure garage to store our bikes. Great choice on the Camino
Super beautiful building/house/room/garden. Very nice and cute staff. This was one of my best memories of my "Camino de Santiago". Also the provided shower gel/shampoo is great - I want to know the brand. 😂
Brilliant hosts. Apartment was very well equipped. Great in Palas de Rei as we found it difficult to find a restaurant so ate at the apartment. Well situated for the centre of town and the camino.
You don’t need a great wifi if you have the chance to talk to Mario! This is better than lots of 5 stars hotels that I have stayed. He opens his home to people and you feel like you are home
Felt like being home. The family that owns and runs this hotel are beautiful people! Food was exceptional. Rooms are very comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here!
beautiful facility and grounds, the room was the best I have experienced in Spain. service was excellent. I ended up staying an extra day just to enjoy the property!
Close to laundromat, restaurants and Camino de Santiago, which we were walking. Had a bit of trouble finding it. The man who checked us in was very kind.
