Beautiful location on top of a hill top. Stayed during the week. So no one else was there. Nice and quiet.

There is absolutely nothing to not like about staying at Säynätsalo Townhall - if you know what it is. It's an architectural icon in a small quiet town, filled once again with life by a dedicated caretaker. While international afficionados take the tour, you can actually spend a night or more in one of the apartments - in one of Alvar Aalto's main buildings, one that shows such much about what his architecture, his thought was about. The host is exceptionally friendly (you can buy his very readable book on the building and Aalto in the book store), and there is the fabulous aa-bakery right there for very tasty breakfasts. Easy parking, excellent communications, caring caretaker, apartment with all one needs - plus great walks in this quiet community to the near-by harbour or on more natural trails. A large supermarket is just across the street.

The house we stayed in was beautifully restored. Our room was very comfortable and thoughtfully decorated, nice private bathroom. Really nice bed and good pillows! Great location by a lake and easy to drive to from the main road. We had a peek in the other rooms as well, and they all looked really nice and indeed have lake views! The kitchen was new and well equipped. Good Wi-Fi. Very good breakfast and nice staff. Definitely worth the bit higher pricing. We'll come again!

Good location, Lodge was better than I expected from the pictures! Kitchen facilities were really good for a big group like us!

I cannot just stop with a five star rating. Wow is just not the word! I loved each and every single thing in this place. It has a beautiful location, access to Lake is like just few metres away and the famous church is exactly 1km away and can be reached easily by walk. Ofcourse the place is located off the city but trust me you will have the best time of your life. Neatly maintained rooms and toilets. Extremely comfortable Sauna! Breakfast is a top-notch healthy home-made food. I must definitely mention about their hospitality which tops everything mentioned above. I travelled alone to this place and i must say I did not feel lonely for a second at all. They were extremely comfortable and welcoming. They infact made my trip and my day.
