Everything! It was perfection. Our room was pristine clean, everything that could shine, did shine. Mirrors, taps, shower etc., all gleaming. The cleaning staff are evidently extremely thorough and pay very good attention to detail. Not one speck of dust, smear, smudge, water mark or rogue hair to be seen anywhere. The room really could not have been any cleaner.
We had a super comfy, queen size bed with top quality linen and amazing pillows (which were very welcome after the singular, tiny lump of foam on the Armorique!)
If TV is important to you, the TV in our room was a whopping 50" LG flat screen with French and English channels. There were complimentary bathrobes, slippers shower gel and bottled water. And we were very pleased to find tea and coffee, as this was unexpected.
We had a lovely, spacious room on the third floor (there is a lift) with full wall-width windows that completely opened out to a glorious sunset and the sound of the nearby church bells.
So often, with small, independent hotels, they can look a bit tired, with signs of wear and tear in the decor, carpets, fixtures and fittings, but not here; everything was in 'good as new' condition.
The location is excellent - right in the centre of Loudeac, but still very quiet.
The young reception staff were superb! An absolute asset to the hotel. They were all really friendly and helpful and very tolerant of our shocking French. Also, very accommodating of our late evening requests for a bottle of wine (a very drinkable Chardonnay at a bargain
20€) and then later, an ice bucket.
The bar was really attractive, welcoming and comfortable. We enjoyed a drink in its lovely surroundings before heading out to dinner.
We didn't have breakfast, but the breakfast room looked very well set out and I can't imagine it falling short of the excellence elsewhere. We will definitely try it on our next visit.

Loudeac is a lovely quiet French town in the centre of Brittany. A perfect location for touring all parts of Brittany yet only an hour and 15 mins from the port of St Malo. There are some beautiful shops and perfect patisseries. All the people we met were very friendly and helpful. Loudeac is very easy to get around on foot.
The hotel is centrally located in the town of Loudeac, so many restaurants are within walking distance. The propreitor is honest, hard working and friendly, and speaks reasonably good english. The rooms have TV and WiFi and parking if required. at additional cost, there is a reasonably good french breakfast, which includes coffee, croissant and cacao for kids.
Breakfast was good and the location was chosen as we were joining a Classic Car Rally just outside Loudeac.
Brigitte was a pleasant hostess in spite of the fact that we had problems with the car and arrived later than planned.
Excellent restaurant as part of the hotel with a limited menu but super food.
Pool and spa which was a new facility and looked cool. Very friendly and positive management
The Chambres d’hôtes was an excellent place to stay in Loudéac. There are some places in the town to eat dinner, though not on a holiday week in August
