It's a nice and cosy little place. The room was very comfy, clean and spacious with all the amenities included. There was parking nearby. Had a very good stay. Would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Lascaux. It takes just a short walk to reach the Lascaux IV.

Beautiful building that is very nicely renovated and decorated. We had an interesting experience. I didn't notice when we booked that the restaurant is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. We booked a Monday night stay. After I inquired about other places to eat,the hotel gave us two recommendations for two nearby restaurants. Unfortunately, the day we arrived all restaurants in the village were closed due to a festival. Only open restaurant was a 30 minute drive away. We opted to go without dinner. The hosts were very very apologetic and clearly distressed by the situation. We received a complimentary split of champagne as a nice gesture. We booked breakfast the next morning which was very good. The server was quite charming and helpful. We enjoyed the salon which was quite comfortable and very beautifully decorated, and we are curious to return sometime when the restaurant is open. :)
Featuring free WiFi, swimming pool and a sun terrace with view over the Valley and Montignac Rooms come with a private bathroom. Lascaux 4 is 1.1 mi away.

The location is beautiful, even better than the pictures suggest. It's also only a few hundred meters from the original cave entrance.

We have come to this region for 20 years and this was the best stay! Excellent communication, very caring and responsive hosts, easy checkin, great local rec's. Very lovely accommodations. Loved the way our hosts renovated the facility, keeping the character of the old building and updating with every modern convenience. Gorgeous, fun art and photography everywhere. Well-appointed common kitchen. Enjoyed meeting fellow travelers yet had total privacy. Room was thoughtfully arranged and warm, perfect for late November. Excellent location. We will be back soon!

The upstairs apartment was very roomy and even includes a sun room. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything in the apartment worked well, including the wifi. While the building is old, the apartment has been updated very nicely. The location is great -- you can walk to a dozen good restaurants and there are banks, an excellent bakery, a laundromat and a grocery store within a couple of blocks. The Verzere River is a block away and has nice walking paths. It was easy to get to the neolithic cave sites, the chateaux, charming towns and other attractions from our location. We would definitely recommend Les Toites de Lascaux to friends.
Le Clos Chalmon Chambre d'hôte offers accommodations in Montignac, 2.6 miles from Lascaux IV and 18 miles from Hautefort Castle.

We stayed at Le Clos Chalmon Chambre for one night and were greeted warmly by John Matthew upon our arrival. The drive down the road to the B&B is lined with beautiful, centuries old trees, which provide a beautiful entry to the centuries old home.
John Matthew oriented us to the lovely property and assisted in getting our luggage to the room. The home is over 7 centuries old and has been lovingly renovated by the owners with period furnishings, quality bathroom fixtures, and quality bed linens. The surrounding countryside is picturesque and warrants time to sit outside and enjoy it.
John Matthew kindly scheduled dinner reservations for us at a fabulous restaurant, Auberge Le Moustier, whose food is Michelin star quality.
The breakfast included wonderful plum and blackberry jams made by the owners from property fruit, which were fabulous. They also have range free chickens, and made herb infused scrambled eggs for us.
Lascaux museums are close by and a great way to learn about the cave paintings. There are also many historic chateau’s to visit and the Vizere river is beautiful. We enjoyed out stay and Le Clos Chalmon Chambre and highly recommend it.

This place does not serve breakfast but this was not a problem because there was a nice bakery not far. The place is a very small village, with horses and donkeys in nearby fields, the river is also 10 minutes walks. Very peaceful. I really liked it.
Le TIVOLI features spa facilities and air-conditioned accommodations in Montignac, 17 miles from Sarlat-la-Canéda Train Station. This property offers a private pool and free private parking.
You need a car, but parking isn‘t easy. Unfortunately, I wasn‘t prepared, so I had to scout things out. Because my days were filled, I often left too early or came back too late to enjoy all the opportunities available.

Montignac is a pretty small town with a good range of resto’s and bars, as well as a small supermarket. It’s very attractive with some preserved buildings from the late medieval period and a wide range from the 17th to 19th century. There’s a canoe hire place in the town too. Overall a well rounded small town.

Medieval small town situated on a river. Canoes available for hire. Quaint shops and walks along the riverbank. Plenty of good eateries and coffee shops. Excellent accommodation centrally located too.

Beautiful old very French village with butcher, patisserie, tea shop with chocolates, lovely restaurants riverside, Good tourism bureau for maps, sites, etc. Good parking facilities. Easy to navigate tho narrow streets. I found it more to my liking than Sarlat which is larger and more commercial, but with more choices and a more beautiful old quarter.
I did the walking tour of Montignac which we very interesting. Montignac is home to that Hotel Rosarie, very upscale. So easy to travel to all the villages along the Dordogne. Directions are impeccable.

Montignac is too often seen as just the gateway to the Lascaux caves. It has its own particular charms. The River Vezere is beautiful and the riverside cafes and restaurants are delightful. People are friendly and welcoming. This is true at all times of the year. Visit in autumn or spring when the place is not crowded and there is more time to explore.
Very good communication with the owner who contacted us and met us at the property on our arrival. It was extremely clean with comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom and had all we needed for our 5 day stay it was a mix of modern with traditional stone and fireplace. It was in a very quiet area and we heard no noise from near by properties but central for the river, bars and shops. Montignac is truly stunning location and would love to return.
Great location in town. Could walk everywhere. Nice longer walk to Lascaux IV. The place was immaculate. Having a well equipped shared kitchen was very useful. Our host was delightful. She provided useful information and we were able to visit her unique art gallery downstairs. A perfect stay. Although there was no parking associated with the property, the room is directly facing a square with lots of free parking. We were always able to get a space.
This is not a hotel for a couple. The small apartment was full of bedrooms and beds upstairs, and the toilette was downstairs. Not very comfortable. There was no privacy as all the outside areas were all connected. We arrived on the 14th of July and there was no soap and very little toilette paper. As it was a holiday, everything was shut! Extremely annoying! Too expensive for what we got!
Better than expected. Last reviews were discouraging, but we had no problems neither with the apartment nor the personnel. Apartment was clean, and well enough equipped. Yes, you need to put the sheets to the bed yourself but so what: that's mentioned and not a big deal. Center of the beautiful Montignac is close (15 minute walk) and you don't need to drive to the heart of the town.
Fantastic! Loved this little 'hotel'. One of the loveliest places I've stayed and would definitely stay again. Beautifully kept rooms and bathrooms, and having a kitchen was a brilliant additional bonus so we could sit and eat breakfast together and buy food from the local shops and market every morning. Addition of fans to the rooms was very much appreciated in the hot weather!!
terrific location in a tiny medieval village walking distance to Montignac, a large town with fantastic architecture from medieval period but with all the convenience needed, grocery stores, restaurances, wonderful views of the Vesere river, and most of all close to the Lascaux caves, a fabulous walk back 28,000 years ago, cave paintings by Cro Magnon Man
The property is old but very cosy. It is located really near the center of Montignac.
Even though the streets are narrow and if it's difficult to circulate and park in front, it appears easy to find free parking spots at a short walking distance (3 min).
The kitchen is well equipped and every appliance we used worked just fine.
The owner of this hotel is very nice. He is secialized in prehistoric archaeology. So, when I consult about cave arts, he taught me a lot of knowledge and helped me to go to a cave.
The rood was clean enogh.
In the hotel, there is no wifi but he took me to another place which has wifi
The restaurant was excellent both the quality of the meals and the service. The meals were delicious and the service was simply outstanding. The menu was imaginative with something for everyone. The hotel's location was perfect, whether for exploring Montignac or the Perigord Noir.
Lovely big room and great hotel. Nice bar and restaurant area but this wasn't open during our stay. The kids loved the big garden with the trampoline and swings. Only a short walk into the beautiful town of Montignac. Really friendly staff made us feel welcome.
The hotel has been refurbished recently and is chic and comfortable. Staff extremely helpful. The position of the hotel in Monbazillac is close to the historical centre. Monbazillac itself is a small picturesque town on the side of the Vezere.
The location was fantastic walking distance to everything in Montignac and 800m to Lascaux and the apartment was light & very comfortable with an outdoor balcony out the back overlooking the Montignac rooftops.
Beautiful hotel with huge amazing grounds and lovely pool. Katia is a wonderful friendly hostess, we loved our room - Little Artist - with its flow of fresh air and flock of doves outside.
The staff welcomed us like family. The breakfast was excellent. It had plenty for two cyclists. They also stored our bags while we toured Lascaux 2. This was very much appreciated.
Ferme des petites Oreilles was fantastic, really idyllic. Lovely ancient building, even lovelier people and animals, great countryside and pool, near Montignac. Superb!
