Great little fishing Port. Lots to see and do.
Great little fishing Port. Lots to see and do. Seafood Restaurants cannot be beaten ans great selection of them. Excellent location for travelling out to various museums and the local museum is a stunning collection recovered from the sea by a local diver who's lifetime's work is displayed ,from uniform buttons to FULL TANKS. Omaha Beach GC is one of the most demanding in the area with cliff top views of the beach. I have stayed here for over 10 years without regret.

Busy working port, if you get up early you can see the catch being brought in. A selection of restaurants serving fish locally caught. Can highly recommend La Marie du Port. We ate there both nights, excellent food, beautifully presented and served, very reasonably priced! There are other shops too selling produce of the region situated between the restaurants. Easy walking around the port.

Stay two or three days, great location for visiting the DDay Beaches. Interesting old harbour, but go in season. We have also been out of season and it is very grim. In season there is a nice buzz, with restaurants, small shops and cafes. Fish market and old fishing boats line the harbour. Interesting to watch the world go by.

Ok to get to by road, small enough to be easy to walk around, little traffic, good choice of restaurants for eating in the evening. Very pretty fishing port, with lots of active fishing boats and trawlers coming and going. Perhaps not the best place to visit if you don't like the smell of fish though.

Port en Bessin was a wonderful little town, right on the coast of Normandy. Food was good, lots of fish and oysters and mussels. Streets are small as are most in these tiny French towns, so rent a small car and navigate carefully. The towns along the Coast in Normandy are gracious to Americans since they are the D-Day landing towns. We went for the 75th reunion for the D-Day landing (June 6, 2019) and had no idea how seriously they took this celebration. Hundreds of US military vehicles that were left become a part of the celebration all week. The French who own and are driving the vehicles dress as American Soldiers in period uniforms. The French dress up in period outfits, women with stockings with seams in the back, hats and hair done in period coiffures....men in pants with pleats and two toned shoes. They love the American Vets who come over and stop them constantly thanking them for their service and kissing and hugging them. It was an awesome visit and happened in all the towns along the coast. Awesome time to visit Normandy and get to know the French people who are more than willing to talk about what their grandparents did to help during the invasion. Many families hid our troops and exchange kids every summer...their stories are passed down to their kids generation to generation. A French family has been assigned to every cross in the American Cementary and they have taken care of it through generations.

The house is excellent. Well positioned to explore the area; in the middle of a lovely little port town with restaurants, shops, bars and a great Sunday Market all on the doorstep. The house is well laid out and can comfortably accommodate 6. The beds are comfy, showers really powerful and despite its position directly on the port side it is incredibly quiet. We loved watching the boats as we ate breakfast. The photos don't do it justice
The location was amazing. Situated on the harbor near restaurants and cafes. It was a charming area. The house had excellent group space and the kitchen was well stocked. The fireplace and outdoor patio were welcome surprises. The bathrooms were private and updated. The upstairs area we did not use but would be perfect for a family w independent children. I’d absolutely rent this home again!
We were visiting the Normandy Beaches and chose the property because of its close proximity to Omaha Beach. When we arrived we were cheerfully greeted and provided our room key. We were meeting friends for dinner at the Botaniste, restaurant on site. Everything was spectacular. The dinner was 5, no 6 stars gourmet!
The grounds were well manicured and maintained.
The cottage is wonderful, and lacks nothing. Centrally located to all of the Normandy sites, on a quiet street, it is one of the best properties we have stayed at after traveling to 13 different countries. We would have gladly stayed longer. All needed amenities are available, and much thought and care has gone into furnishing the cottage.
The location so close to the water, as well as restaurants. Close driving to the beaches of Normandy and just 15 minutes to the town of Bayeux. It was clean and perfect for two people. Very comfortable bed.
The streets of the town are quaint and peaceful. Close enough parking,
no issues parking.
The location is great, on the opposite side of the port to the main restaurants and bars in Port en Bessin and right next to the bustling fishing port. Standard Ibis, the hotel is clean and comfortable with really helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast and good safe storage for a bicycle.
Located midway between Pointe du Hoc and Arromaches, the Ibis was the perfect hotel. Comfortable, very clean, a great bar...and a knowledgeable, friendly, bilingual staff! And Port en Bessin is a sweet little port town for meals and shopping. I recommend both Ibis and the town very highly!!
In a good location for touring around, nice and quiet in evenings.
Nice restaurants in town, supermarket and petrol station close as well.
Easy checkout at the end of the stay.
Good communication and resolve from Frederic, especially when we had one of the group stuck in the toilet 😂
The property is very convenient to the sites of Normandy! It had places for the kids to run and play! They enjoyed the bounce houses and indoor pool. We enjoyed the restaurant close by and walking to the village. The staff is amazing!
Deceptively spacious and well presented home with everything you need. Lovely garden and outdoors space too. All just a short walk away for this lovely Normandy coastal town's harbour side restaurants and cafe bars.
Perfect for a weekend getaway, family of 5. The hotel was close to all the must see locations, but far enough away from traffic and noise. We loved the fact that there was a full sized fridge and a microwave.
What a wonderful hotel in a perfect location to enjoy so much that Port-en-Bassin and this part of Normandy has to offer! Breakfast was exceptional. Rooms very comfortable. Pool enjoyed by kids.
The house was located directly "downtown" Port - en - Bessin. We could walk to the bakery and to all restaurants in an instant. It is wonderfull decorated, fully equiped. It has an unique flair.
The room was really spacious and nice. Also the manager and most of the staff we spoke to we're super helpful and friendly. The hotel is lovely and a really special place to spend the weekend.
Very comfortable and well equipped hotel with all the facilities you would want. The food in the restaurant is outstanding, close to Michelin standard, and excellent value.
Location on the majestic shores of Normandy near Overlord and Omaha Beach. Very convenient walking to beach, restaurants, and shops. All you need—no frills.
Very good location in the centre of town close to quayside shops and restaurants. Nicely renovated property with lots of character and comfortable space.
