From the time we arrived, our stay at La Galuche was wonderful. Brigitte and Tommy made us feel right at home. Their beautifully renovated chambre d'hote was so comfortable. It is a little out of the way but close to many things (if that makes sense). I was there to visit the Maison de l'Acadie in La Chaussee (my grandmother is French Canadian and this area is ground zero for my family tree). But La Galuche was minutes away from many quaint towns.
Tommy and Brigitte told us about the local Vide Genier in Moncontour (15 minutes away) (hard to expain - huge town flea market with so much more).
Brigitte and Tommy have restored their property to perfection. Our room was large and the bed super comfortable. Brigitte definitely has an eye for design. Also her breakfasts were excellent: a little bit of many things...right down to the freshly squeezed orange juice.
I hope our travels bring us this way again - it would be an excellent place to just "be".
