Our family of four stayed in the gorgeous family room. We were all utterly charmed by the character of the large and beautiful room, despite a little grumbling from our two older teens about having to share the space. (The toilet is separate from the shower and sink, which was convenient.) The gardens are wonderful to walk around and the whole area evokes a peaceful time long ago. We loved coming back to the pool after exploring the area, it had a perfect temperature and a beautiful view of La Licorne's 12/13th-century walls. Isabelle and her husband are very welcoming and helpful, recommending Commarque and, for later in our trip, the town of Domme, both of which we loved. They offer a lovely assortment of delicious home-baked goods at breakfast along with wonderful cheeses, yogurt, nuts, coffee and juice. It’s about 20 minutes to most attractions, half that to restaurants and a grocery store in Montignac. There's not a mini fridge in the room but Isabelle gladly stored a few of our things in their fridge. While its remoteness means a bit more driving to some destinations, it also gives La Licorne a lost-in-time feeling that is very special. We’d definitely stay again!

It's a nice and cosy little place. The room was very comfy, clean and spacious with all the amenities included. There was parking nearby. Had a very good stay. Would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Lascaux. It takes just a short walk to reach the Lascaux IV.

Beautiful building that is very nicely renovated and decorated. We had an interesting experience. I didn't notice when we booked that the restaurant is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. We booked a Monday night stay. After I inquired about other places to eat,the hotel gave us two recommendations for two nearby restaurants. Unfortunately, the day we arrived all restaurants in the village were closed due to a festival. Only open restaurant was a 30 minute drive away. We opted to go without dinner. The hosts were very very apologetic and clearly distressed by the situation. We received a complimentary split of champagne as a nice gesture. We booked breakfast the next morning which was very good. The server was quite charming and helpful. We enjoyed the salon which was quite comfortable and very beautifully decorated, and we are curious to return sometime when the restaurant is open. :)

Perfect location to visit many attractions. Quiet and bucolic grounds with a beautiful stone bridge over the Vezere River running right along a part of the property. There ‘s also a charming little town with a Church in Romanesque style and two excellent restaurants in town.

A quiet base for visiting the many interesting sights in the Dordogne. Not far from Montignac where they have a local food and music evening each Monday in summer. Can also recommend visiting Collonges-la-Rouge, the Denoix distillery in Breve and Sarlat la caneda.
