We wanted a relaxing retreat and certainly found it here with only the noise of songbirds in the morning. I don't think a host could be any friendlier or more helpful than Catherine. Our room was actually a suite with plenty of space and a very nice bathroom. While 20 minutes outside of Reims, Château de Courmelois was close enough for visits to the city and perfect for visits to the Champagne villages for scenic drives. Breakfast was highlighted by special homemade treats.

The location was perfect for a stop on our way to Calais. A wonderful origonal chataux with history and character. We were met by the charming owner. Our room was huge and confortable. We just loved the lake, and the feeling of this peaceful place. They do not have a resteraunt, but we did not mind. here are plently of places to eat nearby. We just went to the local supermarket and made a picnic.

Breakfast was cooked fresh for the four of us and it was excellent. It was delicious, and there was so much of it. We learned the story of perte de pain "Lost Bread" which we call French toast in the US.
We had a champagne tasting the evening of our stay which was informative and delightful. Our hostess shared the story of their family champagnes which was such a treat.

Lovely property with lovely views. We were made to feel welcome by the owners. We opted for dinner and what a surprise. We had a 4 course meal with accompanying wine for each course.. We had an enjoyable evening with the owners.

Our overnight stop turned into an unexpectedly delightful experience. Edith and her husband produce Champagne and on arrival we were invited to join them and the other guests to sample their Champagne. The whole house was beautifully decorated, our room was a good size, comfortable and well equipped. The en suite was also very good. Breakfast was delicious, the croissants were probably the best we had tasted in the whole of our two weeks in France.

Sparkling and new, modern property with all of the amenities, house coat, slippers that you come to expect from a top tier property. The location is a working champaign producer, on the Champaign Trail between Epernay and Reimes. The owner shared a bottle of thier product with us and it was a very sincere welcoming experience. The breakfast is very good and served fresh every morning. A great property with totaly hospitable owners.
