We loved the historic, quiet beauty of Villefranche-sur-Mer.
We loved the historic, quiet beauty of Villefranche-sur-Mer. We know it would be much busier in Summer so being there at the start of Spring was perfect although some restaurants were not open - April would probably be the ideal time. It is such a pretty town with a lovely harbour and so different to the glitzy high-rise of other parts of the French Riviera. The people were friendly and it was easy to travel beyond the town by train or bus to places like Nice, Monaco and Cap Ferrat. The tourism information centre people were very helpful, as were the friendly staff at Les Palmiers - great food too. We visited the Citadel and also the gorgeous Saint-Pierre chapel which was decorated outside and inside by Jean Cocteau.

Villefranche-sur-mer is one of the most beautiful villages in the South of France, beautiful harbours, beaches and stunning views. Surrounded by nearby beautiful towns, you can walk to Beaulieu Sur Mer & St Jean Cap Ferrat and being located in between Nice & Monaco, you are just a quick easy train ride either way or a stunning walk to either. The location is amazing. Highly recommend a fabulous Hotel in Villenfranche-sur-mer called “HOTEL DE LA DARSE” which I have stayed at twice now and it is excellent value for money, has a lovely restaurant & terrace, super breakfast, stunning views from the balcony rooms.

It is just such a beautiful place.
It is just such a beautiful place. Maybe not so suited for elderly or disabled people because there are a lot of stairs down to the vibrant area of the port and beach where most of the restaurants and bars are located. We had wonderful meals and drinks in great bars and loved sitting close to the water to eat our meal !! There is a little shuttle bus that can take you down from the top to the bottom but it only goes once an hour!

Very hilly withy difficult driving. Suggest renting an automatic car.
Eze was worth a short visit. We ate in a bistro just down the ro0ad from the hotel. Getting around is NOT easy. It would be better being lower down the mountain to make walking more possible

It's a beautiful area and there are several cafes and restaurants to choose from.
Lots of interesting walks and also lovely beaches where the sea is calm which is great for children.
Recommend Plage La Mariniere for young families.
Unfortunately, Hotel Villa Patricia is not recommended- until there is a change of management. Terribly unprofessional manager at the moment (September 2023).

The place you want to live in if you love the city but also love to be away from tourists. Of course you're going to see tourists all over the French Rivera but Ville Franche-Sur-Mer has this vibe and energy I cannot describe, but it's just something else. It's magical and lovely.

The location of the apartment was fabulous situated at the top of one of the main streets of the old town with easy access to all the best of Villefranche.
The apartment is comfortable and practical with a quirky decor. The shower is great.
The best thing about this property though is the host Sonia who goes out of her way to facilitate your stay. She helped us when train woes and strikes made journeys too and from the apartment difficult. She is a joy.
We checked in for a one night stay in the the hotel for a stay in Villefranche-sur-mer prior to our return back to the uk. Emilie was a perfect host and treated so well on our arrival. The Breakfast in the hotel the morning after was superb with choice of continental breakfast being excellent along with home made treats and cakes that added to the personal touch this hotel provides. The facilities and views are great from the location.
This hotel is just wonderful! I'm so grateful we were able to stay here during our first trip to the French Riviera. The location is PERFECT for getting around for day trips. The rooms are very current and comfortable, and the pool and hot tub are A+ with great views toward the sea. The breakfast is prepared by the owners and very tasty! Great variety. Be sure to include breakfast with your stay and you won't be disappointed.
We stayed in the family apartment which fit 4 people perfectly. The room was great for us and cleaned daily which was great. The view from the room was spectacular. The breakfast we had was also delicious. The owners were very responsive and helped book us a taxi and brought an extra fan into our room because the 2nd floor didn’t get enough air. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to friends and family!
Nice hotel and location. Be sure to book a room with a sea view, because the beauty of the bay is incredible. The rooms are not luxurious, but clean, with all the necessary equipment and even a dishwasher. Very good place, there is a bus stop nearby, so you can reach all the attractions in less than half an hour by bus, the staff is kind and helpful.
A great location to observe the busy little port, with a lovely walk along the fortress walls into Villefranche. The "Harbor View" rooms don't offer much view... I highly recommend to spend a little extra for a balcony room. Breakfast on the terrace was very nice. This is definitely one of the best low cost options in Villefranche.
Its a boutique type of hotel. The views are just beautiful. The hotel is super clean and very comfortable. The restaurant upstairs for dinner was amazing but the breakfast with the freshly made croissants made this experience over the top!!! Great place to stay ..will definitely come back and recommend to friends and family.
The location is gorgeous, with sea view and very close to St.Jean Cap Ferrat, Villefranche-sur-mer and Beaulieu-sue-mer. Also you have quick access to the bus station and the train station from Beaulieu. The hotel is beautifully decorated with typical French details and has a cosy garden with lots of greenery.
It had a washing machine, nice kettle and toaster. Bed was comfortable. right at bus stop which was good. we took the bus to Monaco and to Nice. parking lot (paid) not too far away. Fabrizio, the agent, was very friendly and spoke English. he gave us some good suggestions of places to see and eat.
Lovely little hotel, our second visit. Perfect location to visit Villefranche sur Mer.
Little swimming pool, great to cool off and sunbathe.
Plenty of choice at breakfast and freshly cooked eggs to order.
View from the breakfast terrace over the bay, we love it here.
the view was out of this world! the apartment is large and had everything we needed. the patio facing the sea was the best part! the kitchen had every appliances and more! it was quiet, and easily accessible with a car! we will return 🥰
Probably one of the best locations in Villefranche with great space and amazing views. A light and airy feel, with the type of sophisticated and tasteful decor that promotes relaxation and a need to be back again soon!
Traditional small, French hotel. our rooms were very clean with simple French toile drapes and linens. The bathrooms were updated. The staff was welcoming and helpful. It is a great deal in Villefranche-sur-Mer.
Welcome Hotel was the perfect place to stay in Villefranche-Sur-Mer. Great location and very helpful staff who assisted with dinner reservations travel recommendations. Our suite was very spacious and clean.
Amazing views, spacious, comfortable beds, had everything one needs, great communication from host. Close walk to beach, great parking. Good location btw Jean Cape Ferrat, Beaulieu and Villefranche
