Location is excellent. Our room was quite small but we were out most of the time so not an issue. Was very clean and comfortable though. Breakfast was very good.

    Easy to get to shops in Keswick.

    Easy to get to shops in Keswick. Good food at the Lakes Distillery and Chesters near Ambleside. Good low level walks around Grasmere. A visit to the gingerbread shop in Grasmere is a must but watch for the traffic wardens if parking outside

    Sleepy hamlet near Keswick with lots of good walks from your doorstep. Beautiful views across the valley. Whilst no pubs in Applethwaite you can walk to Keswick cross country in 35mins or get the bus.
