It was far bigger than I was expecting.
It was far bigger than I was expecting. Very well serviced by local buses to surrounding towns and villages. We travelled everywhere by bus. Lots of places to eat in the evening. Local people always ready and willing to help with travel advice.

I liked the central location of the Highland hotel and the activities for the children. The Winking Owl Aviemore is by far the best place to eat. It has such a huge choice of dishes at reasonable prices and great choices for celiacs and vegans. The staff at the Winking owl are lovely and there is a great atmosphere.

The town situated within the Cairngorms National Park in the Highlands of Scotland. There are beautiful views of all the mountains, forests and lakes. Not far from the legendary Loch Ness, it's hard to spot a monster. Amazing fogs.

It was very snowy when I arrived on Christmas day and the town was quiet. Its a pleasant place and a great stop off point to explore the area. It has plenty of cafes and restaurants, as well as shops to keep folk happy. But its real beauty is in the welcome and the access to the surrounding areas.

We visited the Highland Wildlife Park and I would recommend a full day we were unable to see all we wanted to in half a day
the Strathspey railway was enjoyable
Aviemore has a range of shops
the journey to Cairngorm is worthwhile and there are many attractions on the Rothiemuchs Estate
Reindeer Centre is very good with a walk for those able to see the reindeer on the hillside.
Golf and Fishing also availiable
Stayed in lots more expensive hotels during our last minute holiday In Scotland but this was by far one of the cheapest and best.
Owners were super nice and helpful, the hotel room was clean, room were spacious and full of light with modern furniture.
It’s in a great location on the main High street but away from the noise.
Definitely going to reserve the family room next time in aviemore.
Thanks for a lovely stay, totally recommend to everyone and avoid the silly prices around.
This was a good place to explore the nearby area, which was what we wanted. Even though the bathrooms or one bedroom are on the smaller side, they were perfectly functional and we enjoyed our stay there. It was pleasant to sit in the living room in the evening or on the little terrace after lunch when the sun finally came out. I cooked our meals and the kitchen was equipped with everything I needed. It was a great place for the three nights we had in Aviemore.
We were in the lodges this time and decor is very very tired. Big, clean lodge but just needs modernised (thread bare carpets isn’t appropriate for a £300 per night rate)!! Now been to Highlands & Aviemore hotels and still enjoy Aviemore as a location. Glad the swimming temperature is better in summer as very cold when we usually visit in January. Breakfast lovely and resort entertainment crew excellent, especially Rory!! What a hoot.
The breakfast was really excellent (you need to select your choices and time the day before) and the staff very friendly. The location is great for exploring the Cairngorms. It is a short drive away from of Aviemore town center, so you don't get the crowds and traffic, but close enough to pick up things you need. There is plenty of parking and a lake right near by. The restaurant serves a nice variety of dishes.
The hotel was quiet and the staff were friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and had all the right amenities for unwinding after a long day of travelling. The reception desk even held our luggage when we checked out before our train arrived. I would consider staying here again if we ever find ourselves revisiting Aviemore.
Room got upgraded due to quiet period - great sized room, plenty facilities - kettle/hairdryer/tea/coffee etc. Hotel is in great location for reaching local nature spots such as Loch Morlich / Lochan Eiliean and Lochan Uaine etc - and a short drive away from Uath Lochans and Carrbridge which are well worth a visit if in Aviemore
Small Country Hotel, great staff with very friendly relaxed attitude. Food was excellent. Pleasant strolling in fields behind with your pets as dogs and cats welcome. Only a couple of miles from Aviemore where there are plenty of activities. Not to mention skiing!
Altogether a very pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone
Hotel was beautiful, staff were very helpful approachable and friendly, couldn't fault the service, food was amazing rooms were very clean and stunning, stunning views from our room and we had our children with us which they were very accommodating for. Will definitely return here we had an amazing time!
First time at High Range. Great location for Aviemore. Had everything we required especially dog walks nearby. Accommodation warm on arrival. And extremely comfortable. Well maintained grounds and surroundings. Would return for more visits.
Good buffet breakfast and dinner were available. Having this available at the hotel was an advantage given that the other restaurants in town were understaffed due to the pandemic. Swimming pool and lounge area were great.
We were upgraded to the Highland hotel at no extra cost as the Aviemore hotel was closing for maintenance.
The room was clean and well stocked, it was peaceful and quiet.
Breakfasts were very nice plenty to pick from.
I was many, many times in Aviemore and always stay in hotels, and that was a mistake! Perfect place for holiday ! You can find even board games and lego for kids 😉
The suite we had was great for three. The bathrooms had high quality fittings. The hotel is well-situated for exploring the town. We really enjoyed our stay.
