Chequers Inn, hotel in Brightling

Set in Battle, 24 km from Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway Adventure Park, Chequers Inn offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

The Chequers is in a great location for visiting Battle. It is within walking distance of The Abbey, the Battlefield, the station and Battle high street. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the pub has lots of traditional features like creaky floors and low ceilings because of the age of the building. All the Staff were very helpful and friendly and the food is delicious.

Located in the rural village of Burwash, The Bear Inn is just a 10-minute drive from the ancient woodland of Dallington Forest.

Convenient and free parking, painless and efficient check-in by friendly and welcoming staff. A very pleasant and enjoyable place to stay. I was only there for one night, but would be happy to stay for a week.

We stayed at the White Hart for three nights in a large comfortable room with an amazing view across the countryside. It is a shame that the White Hart does not offer breakfast but the breakfast provided by the village post office/shop/cafe was excellent. Our only criticisms of the room is that it needs a soap dish in the shower and it was not serviced every day, only between stays which is a pity given the cost of the room. The staff were friendly and obliging and the food was good so no complaints there. Recommended for a short break.
