Abbey’s Inn, hotel in Cheadle

Situated within 10 km of Alton Towers and 15 km of Trentham Gardens in Cheadle, Abbey’s Inn features accommodation with seating area.

The house and host was amazing. Abbey contacted us from the moment we booked to update us with parking details etc. Before our visit she emailed with local places to eat nearby along with supermarkets which was so handy. We arrived and the room was so homely and clean. The bed was superking and super comfortable for us and our little boy stay. It had been a hot few days and Abbey had even popped in a fan which was much appreciated on arrival with temperatures at 24. The shower in this property is so good and it was just a 10 min drive to alton towers which was ideal for our visit. Will def be recommending to our Scottish friends. Thanks for having us Abbey.

Weathervane Hotel by Greene King Inns, hotel in Cheadle

Situated in Meir, the Weathervane Hotel is 20 minutes’ drive from Alton Towers.

Perfect location, especially for a family (with Macdonalds and Tesco Extra across the road). Not that we used them, as the restaurant is excellent... lovely food and great service. Best thing about the room?...The power shower! Wow! Best shower I have ever had in a hotel! This was our 3rd stay at the WV (each for 2 nights). It's our 'go to' hotel when we come to Stoke. Wouldn't book anywhere else. Excellent value for money.

The Bridge House Restaurant and Hotel, hotel in Cheadle

Set in Alton, 3 km from Alton Towers, The Bridge House Restaurant and Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

The situation of the rooms is a quirky restaurant next to an inn . The garden with seating and carpark stretches down to the river with loads of outdoor seating. Drinks can be taken down from the Inn. Food at the bridge is very popular so worth booking. Food at the Inn was great, best chips ever. The room was so kitch in the best way with a huge impossibly comfy bed, full bathroom and balcony. Staff and the information pack we really helpful, we were welcomed and shown everything we needed.

A small, yet quite lovely little place.

A small, yet quite lovely little place. The thing that makes it is the people. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, a great place! There isn’t an abundance of shops and if you want a quick and cheap bite to eat there are a few weatherspoon/hungry horse type of places around.

A cute village feel with some lovely history and quite a few cute shops. Plenty of choices for take away food locally and our host had thoughtfully left these with our personal welcome note, which was a lovely touch.

We stayed near to Alton Towers, and it was a short drive to the resort. Alton Towers is in the middle of nowhere, and signage sometimes led us part way, and then just stopped. The SatNav lost signal, and Google Maps saved the day. We had a fantastic day - it was our granddaughter's 4th birthday, and her first trip to a theme part. We were lucky with the weather, so couldn't fault anything. The queues for the rides weren't too bad, and as we brought picnics, we didn't need to wait for refreshment.

Booked a hotel in Cheadle as it was close to Alton Castle where we were visiting. Had a meal in the High Street which was fine but not really too much else to do in the area although there is much beautiful countryside if you are a rambler/walker!

Only stayed here overnight enroute to Alton Towers.

Only stayed here overnight enroute to Alton Towers. We weren't impressed with the restaurants there, The Wheatsheaf closed the kitchen early as they ran out of food! By the time we walked to the Hungry Horse they'd also stopped serving food so the only alternatives were takeaways but we had no cutlery to eat it at our guest house - not ideal when you have a tired 5 year old with you. Other than that fine.

It is warm and welcoming. While having a pre dinner drink we ask what the dinner menu was, were rather taken aback it was pizza, but were assured they were excellent. How true, they were exceptional, and I am not a pizza fan, generally. Breakfast was as delicious,, with the best coffee we had in all our English journeys. Very comfortable room, lots of space. This is a lovely place to stay, and so close to Pugin’s gem of a church, St Giles, which is why we were in Cheadle after all. highly recommended.

Clean room, warm Stokie welcome, very comfortable bed, excellent location. Set on the edge of town, modern room that's great value. The bed is large and comfortable, bathroom facilities clean and modern. The whole room is a lot nicer than some four star plus boutique hotels we've stayed in ! Well done Abbey.
