The location was ideal as it was in the centre of the town, with all of the facilities nearby, including the castle, which was our reason for visiting Barnard Castle. The restaurant/breakfast room was very clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the breakfast but the black pudding was rather dry and the poached eggs whites were not fully cooked. The cleanliness of the hotel, overall was excellent.

Very well kept, warm and exceptionally clean cottage.
Kitchen well equipped didn't need to bring anything as everything was provided (washing up liquid, foil, cling film etc).
Would certainly look for a return visit.

Lovely cottage has everything you need with little extras. Hot tube overlooking fields was perfect. Nina meeting is on arrival with lovely little present for when arrived. Couldn’t ask for more. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back.
