This is a wonderful hotel with real character. Room was very clean with a very comfortable bed. The location perfect. 30minute walk, £5.80 taxi or bus stop outside to city centre. Staff were brilliant, professional, very helpful and friendly. The 10.00 fee for 24 hour, secure parking was the most reasonable in York. The gardens were a real bonus, they are very well kept and it was nice to sit out in the evening to have a drink and food . We had a very nice pizza for £9.00 and the breakfast was superb. We look forward to returning as our stay was perfect

Parking was no problem, despite the fact it said it was limited. Bedroom and bathroom both huge and the communal area felt luxurious. Breakfast was good and the evening meal was pretty good - although their wine list was very depleted. Just a 15 minute walk down into York so location was very good.
