Location was just a few miles from the NC 500. The cottage was home from home. Lovely location by the river. The host had left us a welcome basket of goodies and fresh milk in the fridge. The beds were super comfy - pillows and bedding were excellent. Cooking facilities had everything you need and the lounge was comfy.

The glamping pod was spacious and very cozily decorated. Everything was tidy and clean. What made this pod special were the various little touches left by our wonderful hostess, Andrea. From personally guiding the way to the glamping pod (Google Maps got confused) to the coffee, tea, hot chocolate, delicious jam and many more things provided, we could not have asked for more. Unfortunately, we could only stay for one night, as we had quite a long ways to go still, on our trip around the NC500, but whenever we're back in and around Halkirk we will absolutely be back!

The breakfast was really good as was the evening meals we booked & served in a nice dining room by lovely staff.

The Park Hotel - Where the atmosphere & surroundings are as welcoming as the food. Why not go all the way! To Caithness, the land beyond the Highlands and enjoy the hospitality at the Park Hotel.

Simple but great. - awesome friendly staff - Linda was fabulous - superb cooked breakfast good sausage and bacon proper loca L butcher produce. Evening bar was chilled good service. Room adequate and clean.a place stories will be made.

This is a hostel so don't expect a 5* hotel. The room was clean the beds were a bit "springy" also all the rooms had en-suite, this hostel doesn't have parking, it was on street breakfast was in the kitchen/diner as was a help yourself, there was a good selection.
