Everything was excellent apart from the very hard sofa - a shock when you sit down on it!

This is a really tiny but clean and nicely decorated cottage on a working farm. We loved the remote location and the views from the cottage across the countryside. It was especially nice sitting in the hot tub, watching the lambs playing in the adjacent fields.

Comfortable and well furnished, very comfortable bed, kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a quick meal and included cereals, milk, ground coffee etc. for breakfast. Good WiFi. Perfectly located for visiting the forts etc on Hadrians wall part of which is visible from the property and about 10 mins walk. The Milecastle Inn next door was very welcoming with excellent food and very friendly staff. We would highly recommend both the accommodation and the Pub.

Haltwhistle was a great location to access Hadrians wall and the Roman forts , we were there on May bank holiday Sunday and almost all the town was shut up except a couple of restaurants and a co op shop. On BH Monday there was one pub serving food and they had shut the kitchen by 7.15 pm having run out of food. I found the town deserted which was a shame. We ate in Jethros cafe on the Sunday night which was great , lovely food and waitresses , can recommend that cafe.

The town is marketed as being the geometric centre of Great Britain. It may well be. It is ideally situated a short drive from Hexham and roughly midway between Carlisle and Newcastle. It is a small town close to Hadrian's Wall and the associated ancient sites. Nightlife is limited as one might expect from a small town. Well worth a visit.

A pleasant and friendly small town ideally positioned to explore Hadrians Wall and a great place to base a walking, cycling and mountain biking holiday.
Additionally some great driving roads and little traffic.
Some good pubs locally or within a short drive or cycle.

We only spent one night but it is in a perfect spot for visiting Hadrian's Wall. It is near the best museum- Vindolanda and the best section of the wall (Cawfield Quarry) if you want to get a good taste of the Wall but only have a limited amount of time, like we did.

I was walking Hadrian's Wall so it was great that we had the pub on our doorstep for our evening meal and the property was so close to the Hadrian's Wall path. It was lovely being in such clean air in the heart of Northumberland National park.
Excellent location, 7 mins walk from Haltwhistle station. The Hadrian’s Wall Bus stops right outside the hotel. The room was cosy and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom toiletries included hair conditioner: a wonderful, unexpected bonus! The cooked breakfasts were delicious and very good value for money. Food in general was excellent: we had dinner here every day. The staff were warm and welcoming, and always ready to help, despite how crazy busy the restaurant was!
We were walking Hadrians Wall with friends and met them at Haltwistle - we all; stayed at The Manor House. The owner and staff go the extra mile to make you welcome and even have a FREE shuttle bus to take you back to the wall to continue your walk(Haltwistle is a good 2 miles away and that is a long walk at the end of a 14-16 mile day). Very nice, clean bedrooms, crisp linens and big white towels - more like a good hotel than rooms in a pub so above expectation.
This is a lovely family farm not too far from Haltwhistle and Hadrian's Wall. We had a big room with walk in shower. Breakfast was in the main house and it was really really good! The proprietor picked us up at the train and then showed us the walking paths to get back to town and up to Hadrian's wall. I would love to return to this amazing place.
Everything else. Amazing breakfast, friendly, comfortable, great location, quiet, good recommendations on things to do, working farm, few other rooms, excellent Covid precautions, lovely garden and tea house, good fishing nearby, walking path to Haltwhistle, friendly, good in-room facilities, views, whirlpool bathtub, and especially, friendly!
This is a great little hotel. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. David is very knowledgeable of the area. Leigh made me feel like I was more than just another random guest. The food is fantastic. Really just a great little hotel. If I ever make it back to this side of the world again, definitely staying here again.
We went to this hotel because we wanted to relax and enjoy a night away where was tranquil, and this we got, from staff to food and drinks we were more than satisfied, breakfast was unreal, perfectly cooked, efficient staff, and very welcoming, very clean hotel, which we thoroughly enjoyed and will return for another visit
A small cottage, perfectly suitable for us, a retired couple. Very clean with good quality furniture. The Milecastle Inn is a good, friendly pub serving very good food, the sea bass was excellent and lunchtime sandwiches very good!
Lovely walking area, with a lovely walk to Haltwhistle on a path through woodland.
The Snug is a comfortable intimate space overlooking a pasture a mile or so outside of the town of Haltwhistle, which has food stores and pubs. The room has many nice features including an attached glass solarium seating area that expands the space, and is where you have an excellent breakfast. Great hosts too!
We are regular visitors to Haltwhistle (wife was born there and went to school in this building when it was the local primary school ). We have stayed at several hotels or B&Bs. This was by far the best and we’ll be staying again. Rooms very tastefully refurbished and excellent, inventive breakfast choices
Great location lots to do near by for family's handy for cycle path to Haltwhistle and open air pool also good links for other attractions with in an hours drive . Comfortable cozy cottage. Plenty of space in the garden for kids to run around and very safe. Lovely views and very peaceful.
What a lovely place - well appointed, spacious and adjoining a great pub. We were walking Hadrian's Wall and the location couldn't be better. The owners were very hospitable - even to the extent of offering to drive me back to Haltwhistle to retrieve my car! Highly recommend.
Very charming place, and welcoming hosts. Breakfast was selected before arrival, and was placed in a fridge for us to use in the morning. The bothy is very close to Greenhead, which has an excellent restaurant (Greenhead Hôtel), and some of the best bits of Hadrian's wall.
One of the cleanest hotel rooms I have stayed in! Very cozy and comfortable bed. Easy check in with self service. The fresh milk in the fridge was a lovely touch for the tea and coffee. The bath towels were enormous and very fresh smelling too.
Charming hosts, brilliant bothy, all needs were anticipated, and what a location!! Perfect for a solo traveler, near all the top Hadrian's Wall stops, and Haltwhistle a postcard pretty and walkable village. Full marks!
large spacious room with armchairs and settee. We hit a lucky date on which the hotel host was offering a typical roman meal with seven courses - a brilliant start to our visit to hadrian's wall.
