The Wayside & Whisky Barn ticked all the boxes. First class service, super comfortable beds, a beautiful roaring log fire in our bedroom and of course an amazing selection of over 150 whiskies.
Not forgetting the delicious breakfasts with fresh home baked breads, plus we had a fantastic 3 course meal followed by Irish coffees on the Saturday night, total perfection. We will definitely be back soon.
Providing a garden, Whicham Hall features accommodations in Silecroft. This bed and breakfast provides free private parking and free Wifi.

Megan was a wonderful host- she answered all our questions and even allowed us a traveling breakfast on one morning we needed to leave early. Her husband Peter was wonderful in showing us around the farm animals and even did a sheep shearing and sheep dog demonstration for us. The farm is off the beaten path and gave me some great opportunities to practice driving a manual car. This property has great views and allowed us to get some good relaxation. Highly recommend!

don't go. spend your money in a place that appreciate it unless you wish to listen to foul mouthed people in the harbour hotel and have to put up with the rude and arrogant people who live there that's if they are not smoking drugs on the beach. the nicest people we met were the people on holiday and two ladies one of which had moved there 5 years ago. i am sorry to say we didn't get the opportunity to speak to any nice people who live there and no doubt they do but from the moment we arrived we were spoken to like dirt and the mad paint lady who was going around painting the pavements with the words no parking should really be spoken to by the local council and or police.

A small former fishing village on the West Cumbrian coast, close to the town of Millom and the huge Hodbarrow nature reserve. The beach is clean, safe and extensive, backed by sand dunes which make ideal for children.
The village has a friendly, well stocked shop, a post office, 2 pubs and a fish and chip shop with a varied menu.
There are some great walks in and around the area, and the 3 mile beach at Silecroft, mentioned in The Sunday Times as one of Britain’s top ten beaches, is a short drive away. The Lake District is also within easy reach, Coniston being just a scenic 30 minute drive
