Canaston Oaks, hotel in Llandissilio

Nestled in the picturesque Welsh countryside, the 5-star Gold award-winning Canaston Oaks has luxury barns & rooms with uninterrupted views.

We had a lovely stay here for one night. The room was a generous size with a lovely sitting area and ensuite. There was a complimentary pack of shortbread and red wine. There was a tall standing fan which was helpful in the hot weather. The view out of our window was gorgeous, overlooking green fields. We went for a walk in the grounds along the river which was easily manageable in our crocs! and we were accompanied by the hotel dog who was friendly but kept his distance. Lots of nice options at breakfast time and my dairy intolerance was accommodated with oat milk and margarine. Lovely fresh sourdough available. Soaps in the bathroom were very nice too. We took a taxi into Narberth which cost £15 each way and was well worth it to enjoy the local pubs and Hwb which had lots of beers on tap and some nice eateries. If you'd rather stay in they have a bar in house with a good selection of wines, beers, snacks and games.

David's Organic Farm Wales, hotel in Llandissilio

Situated in Llanfallteg, David's Organic Farm Wales offers a range of self-catering accommodation with a garden and farm walks.

Location was beautiful and the cottage was very quaint. Kitchen although a little dated was perfect. The beds were very very comfortable. It was quite muddy (as you would expect on a farm). so take wellies. There was a super cute welcome package of organic teas and coffee plus milk in the fridge!

The room was clean and spacious.

The room was clean and spacious. The shower pressure was great. The staff were friendly and informative. The breakfast delicious but I would recommend changing to local sausages from Ken Davis. There is a delightful garden view from the breakfast room.

We stayed at Nant-Y-Ffin hotel in Llandissilio, a quaint little village. Cardigan is only 18 miles north where we spent the day – we bought local handicrafts by Jeff W Henderson (at Crafter's Cwtch) and then walked along tarmac footpath on the bank of river Teifi (slow walk: half-an-hour each way), part of Wild Life Park and had scones and coffee at Wild Life Centre. I read that the noun “Cardigan” originated (1868) at Ceredigion (Cardigan in English) – the troops of 7th Earl of Cardigan wore close-fitting knitted woollen jacket during the Crimean war.

Llandissillio is a good location for getting around Pembrokeshire. The Nant-y-Ffin hotel provided excellent meals. It is easy to get all parts of Pembrokeshire. The road running north and south is not congested so easy to get to the south and north coasts plus other attractions.
