Greenfinch, hotel in Lucker

6.7 km from Bamburgh Castle in Lucker, Greenfinch provides accommodation with access to a steam room. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available.

Northumberland is a lovely location and the village of Lucker is so peaceful. The cottage was excellent, very clean and very well equipped. Very minor things to point out: dining room chairs need replacing, very uncomfortable. Kitchen equipment was excellent but could have done with some cereal bowls instead there was only soup bowls.

    Lucker is quiet and peaceful.

Lucker is quiet and peaceful. We drove into Bamburgh within 10 minutes of the Grain Rooms and visited the castle. Really enjoyed the experience and learning more about its history. We booked a lovely meal at the Black Swan Inn gastro pub on Union St in Seahouses which is approximately a 15 minute drive away. Harbour Road has a decent sized car park. Lovely little village for souvenirs and stocking up at the local Co-Op.

Luckier is a small village, but well positioned for access to tourist attractions. We ate in the village at the local pub, but found a nicer venue at an adjacent village, only a little over a mile away.

Self catering with no local store that didn't require a car...

Self catering with no local store that didn't require a car journey. The nearest town was Seahouses which was very busy but well supplied. The whole area of Lucker seems to be taken over by holiday homes of one sort or another so no local character, that said it was a really great place to stay on our journey to Scotland and felt really safe in these pandemic times.

The village of Lucker is small and quiet.

The village of Lucker is small and quiet. We walked on a couple of public footpaths but found them overgrown and hard to follow. Would of liked to have walked to Bamburgh castle but the roads are narrow and have no footpaths. If you want a quiet retreat and short drive to the coast away from the noise then it's perfect.

This property is located in a quiet village with good places to eat close by. It is ideally situated for visiting Holy Island and Bamburgh castle and for boat trips to the Farne Islands from Seahouses. For anyone wanting to visit Scotland, Edinburgh is less than a two hour drive away. The owner of the property is very pleasant and there is a good choice for breakfast from traditional English to tasty kippers. Our room was clean and cosy with an exceptionally comfortable bed. Overall, a great place to stay for a few days.
