The location and building were both very good

I ended up at the Black Horse after being stranded at Peterborough due to an LNER situation - I tried booking hotels in town and they had run out of spaces so I randomly chose a reasonably priced one that was accessible - which ended up being the Black Horse. It looked very nice from the photos and lived up to this image - it's a gorgeous place - an old-fashioned inn with a restaurant, bar and rooms, beautifully decorated. The young woman on duty who checked me in (I can't remember her name but she was great) was extremely welcoming, reassuring and accommodating. The dinner was exceptional - the best gluten-free fish and chips I have tasted! (Coeliacs should check if the tartare sauce is gluten free though) It was great to be so warm and well-fed in such a nice environment after being stuck on the train and then a cold platform for several hours. I'd definitely recommend this place. My room was large and comfortable with space to work and a really good shower. They even let me work remotely the next morning teaching music online no bother! (In fact I got a round of applause from the locals in bar next door when I finished :D) Altogether very friendly, comfortable, amenable and relaxed place. The young bar staff were also great - relaxed, resourceful and accommodating. I'd definitely choose to stay here if I was in the area again, absolutely.

The cottage has been meticulously decorated. It is very comfortable and spacious, and had everything that we needed to have a very comfortable and restful stay.

Gorgeous room. Lovely food really lovely staff. Manager running it Paul. He is so friendly and professional. Breakfast was perfectly cooked lovely location too.

Staying at the Cider Hut was a unique and wonderful experience. From the moment my booking was confirmed the communication and service was second to none. The wow factor from when you first arrive, alongside the lovely little touches and surprises make this such a refreshing, fun and relaxing stay.

Very friendly good staff

We had the attic room with an ensuite bathroom. The room was clean and had the basics for an overnight stay. Use of the kitchen was helpful. It is in a house with 3 other rooms and was very quiet during our stay. Parking and access to the house were both easy.
