More than a stopping point on the Pembroke coastal path.

With more time I'd have done the boat trip to Skomer Island. Walking round the Deer park (National Trust parking) at the end of the peninsula you could see seals and pups in the coves below.
Great views of the coast from the becon on left by the road to the Luckley Centre for the boat trips. By 14th September they were on their winter arrangements and the actual centre was closed - boats were running so check details between Sept- April.

Marloes is a very convenient place to stay if you want to visit Skomer Island - only a 5 minute drive to Martins Haven. The Lobster Pot pub serves pleasant food and if you want something more up market, then the Griffin in Dale is only a 10 minute drive away and the seafood there is excellent (best to book as all tables seemed to have been reserved).
Skomer island did not disappoint, the puffins were there in force and were very cute plus loads of other sea birds. The £3 guide produced by the WWT was an excellent source of info for the novice bird watcher.

The Puffin Shuttle was still on the Winter timetable so only...
The Puffin Shuttle was still on the Winter timetable so only running 2 days a week until 25th May 2019. When I booked this trip in late December the bus website stated that the summer timetable would come into effect from the first Sunday in May. This made it more difficult for walking different sections of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path but fortunately I had my own transport so could manage some circular walks.
Look no further than this "pub with rooms" for perfect accommodation for exploring the area. The pub / hotel team are completely set up for birders and explorers and were very welcoming. Lovely atmosphere in the pub in the evening, perfect comfort food to come back from boat trips from and a hearty breakfast to set you on your way back East (cause frankly it's the only way to go from there!). Lovely room, exceeded expectations, and thanks to the family team running the pub/accommodation.
The Landlord was exceedingly friendly and the room was a nice size in a great location. Parking was off road in front of the hotel.
We had a very early start so a 'breakfast package was left by the door for us, Cereals and Milk, so we could have a breakfast before starting our journey
The location is absolutely superb with direct access to walks and Marloes Sands.
We had an early departure on our last day and we were provided with coffee, milk and assorted cereal at our door, which was really handy.
Great location in Marloes, near the Pembrokeshire coastal path and also near the fantastic beaches and countryside. Excellent value, host was welcoming. we ate in - pub grub but well done. Lovely pub gardn
- The location is perfect for going to Skomer Island and/or Marloes Sands
- Rooms are comfortable and modern
- Excellent breakfast
- The pub has good food but as it’s the local pub, it gets very busy
