Ty Twt, hotel in Mydrim

Offering a garden and garden view, Ty Twt is situated in Carmarthen, 43 km from Oakwood Theme Park and 43 km from Folly Farm.

Tŷ Twt was everything we expected it to be - excellent location in the countryside, peaceful and secluded but only a 15 minute drive to the quaint town of Newcastle Emlyn and a 30 minute drive to Cardigan, 40 minutes to Folly Farm. The cabin was absolutely spotless, well equipped and fresh eggs on arrival which was lovely. Loads of space outside for children to play and run free, plenty of books and puzzles as there’s no tv (not a bad thing). BBQ area and fire pit were great - I would advise to bring your own disposable/portable bbq’s, charcoal and lighter/matches as these are not kept in the cabin. The compost toilet was absolutely fine, easy to use and not as bad as what I’ve read in previous reviews. We had the best stay, my 5 year old absolutely loved it, we will be definitely be back, only for longer next time ☺️

    Very disappointed on arrival.

Very disappointed on arrival. When we finally got into the lodge it smells damp and cold. They tried to hind the smell with plug in airfreshners in a very room. Which made it worse. We had to unplugg them. Sofa was very old and dirty both of them. Very uncomfortable. Made are way to the kitchen to make coffee and open the drawer to get a spoon and there was a dirty used finger plaster with blood mad me vomit in sink. Beds where about 30 years old mattress was covered with a topper but still very uncomfortable and we itched all the time we were there. Flush on toilet was broken so had to use water from kitchen to use as a flush. It get worse and worse. No hot tub. No dishwasher. No washing machine. Over was not able to use due to the smell of the dirty and in fact it was disgusting and had to turn it off. I'm so disturbed by my birthday week away still. We booked for a week but could only stay 2 days. Total wast of money. Log cabin for my 55th birthday was something I always wanted to do. If you pull out the dressing table in main bedroom you will find my earing I dropped. I pulled it out a little but it was so dirty with mess and cobwebs I couldn't get it. Carpets as so dirty and sticky they stuck to you slippers. I'm sorry I really don't want to remember any more about it.
