We loved our stay here - beautiful location, very comfortable and well appointed room, excellent service, fabulous food! The walks along the Thames and 'inland' were great and the village is very pretty!

Very reasonable price for a decent room close to Prospect parkrun! The host was very attentive.
Arrived at 3 and room still not ready at 5.20 . Then given the room number 10 and bed not made up as still waiting on laundry. Duvet all stained and room dirty.Asked to see manager and a guy called Ben arrived and said nothing was going to please me … photos will show

Interesting place, will go back.
Interesting place, will go back. Got to swim in the Thames, see the churches, go to Whitchurch, walk along the Thames. Visit Goring. It's a fantastic place for a couple of nights. There is a canoe club and also it's a good place to cycle in.

Pangbourne is surrounded by loverly woods and the River Thames runs close by. The traffic during the day is very heavy and makes walking around the town unpleasant. Oddly there are no pubs on the river. There are som nice walks by the river.

Pangbourne’s become seedy looking, with very few real shops left. All the pubs were either closed to non residents, or closed around 9.00 pm ish; all, except The Swan, we’re closed all Sunday evening! The high street is very noisy and stinks of fumes.

It’s only small village which is gorgeous and full of character. There’s only a few places to book to stay overnight. The George was dirty and badly needs some tlc! Didn’t use the romantic bath for 2 in the honeymoon suite because of the mould around the bath. So wasn’t the special romantic stay we hoped for atal

Cleanliness and individuality of hotel decor coupled with...
Cleanliness and individuality of hotel decor coupled with keen price meant for an enjoyable stay. The hotel is well situated in the village. Also reassuring was that there seemed good regard to social distancing and other covid related precautions by all staff.
The hotel was clean but fairly basic and economy rooms are small but we expected that rooms were nice and warm as well. The hotel does have a railway line at the back which can be noisy but they automatically moved us further away which was appreciated and helped a bit. Plenty of parking which was good. The staff/owners were really friendly, check in was easy. We were not in the hotel much as we were visiting family but we did have a couple of late evening drinks in the bar which was very pleasant.
The location was very good, we regularly took the train to Goring for meals and shopping. The hotel is a two minute walk to the station and a 4 minute train ride
The staff were great, very accommodating as we had a small dog. The room backed onto the garden which was useful when you have a dog. We asked for a quiet room and it was very quiet.
The steak meal we had the first evening was superb as was the beautiful afternoon tea (picture added)
Great stay over the Christmas holidays to meet up with family and friends who live in Reading/Pangbourne/Tilehurst area. Very friendly staff and we enjpyed a really good meal in the restaurant on our first night. It was lovely to have a change of scenery after all this Covidness. A very happy famil stay - thank you
The stay was great and the hotel staff really looked after us. I was a little concerned after reading other reviews but I can not fault this hotel at all. The breakfast was also perfect so we will stay again.
