You need to approach tbe farm from the South down near the main Penrith Keswick rd. The weather wasn't good during our visit but the decking has a BBQ which would have been fantastic. There's a Lama farm and great Cafe with farm shop just across the main road about a mile away.

Penruddock is a great location for exploring the Ullswater area and only 15 minutes from Keswick, some road noise as its a busy road from Keswick to Penrith. Must sees in the area include Lodore falls, Aira force (early morning or late is best), Dodds wood, Winlatter for fantastic views, a visit to Buttermere is well worth the drive, for views with a short walk - Surprise view is has fabulous views and Castlerigg stone circle.

It was very close to A66 and convenient for travel to Keswick, Ullswater and even Windemere but we set off at 8.00 am did not wait for breakfast at it was only at 8.30am .Trafiic builds up quickly. There is nothing in Penrudock, only the Herdwick inn and a scattering of houses. Distant hills of the lake district can be seen.

My Wife, Son and I loved the view which was really lovely.

My Wife, Son and I loved the view which was really lovely. It was very peaceful and quiet. The family were most helpful. The opportunity was available if you wanted to see the cows being milked or the lambs being fed as well as having a ride on a tractor. The Owners provided some outdoor and indoor games for our son to play. .There are a lot of hills near bye to climb or countryside walks. The outside bath was a plus for me.The Hot water could become cold quite quickly but you can easily manouvre the shower. It is a good place to use as a base. I would say that the second bedroom was too small for our son who will be 12 in August. The only other difficulty was that flies got into the caravan, I think there needs to be more netting on the doors along with the curtains to help with this. There were not loads of them but enough for my wife to become frustrated.
