Arrived dusty and dry after cycling across the south downs and greeted by friendly efficient staff. Check in and secure bike storage was quickly and efficiently completed allowing us to get scrubbed up before dinner.
After a day eating energy bars the exception food in the restaurant was very much welcomed and delicious. The best steak and ale pie I have ever had I think. Very much recomended.

We stayed over at the White Horse as we were attending a wedding in the local area. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The breakfast was delicious, and the lunch/evening food looked fantastic (although we didn't get a chance to try it). Alex and the team were absolutely marvellous hosts, going out of their way to make our stay a great one. We would highly recommend staying at the White Horse, we will certainly stay again sometime in the future.
A pleasant small market town with good facilities.
A pleasant small market town with good facilities. Within range of national Trust properties, and other towns like Minstead. Good road and rail connections, but watch out for the "average speed zones" particularly on the A272 !!

A charming village near the glorious South Downs.
A charming village near the glorious South Downs. We had difficulty finding somewhere to eat on the Sunday night but Ruby and Monty was a little gem of a restaurant (Italian - pizza/pasta) that accommodated us at short notice - they served the best salads and bruschetta I have ever eaten!

An old house steeped in history with the same family running it for seven generations. Very friendly greeting, all staff helpful, courteous and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was well prepared and well served, so nice to have quality linen on the tables. Quite rare these days.
It was a shame and disgraceful, that another party of guests were so rude to the staff which caused upset at breakfast.
A gem of a place to stay and we wished we could have stayed longer. Very comfortable bed, which makes all the difference for a good night's sleep.
The next village along the narrow road had a couple of nice eating places for an evening meal.

We stopped in Petersfield for lunch, briefly.
There had been a market earlier, which we sadly missed, they were setting up for an event in the main square which sounded interesting.
We did spend some time in the village of Buriton, wonderful walks, again, sadly not enough time. May have to return...

From the moment we arrived we were amazed how beautiful the barn was. Cosy, comfortable and designed to a high spec. It has everything you need to make you feel you are at home. We stayed over Christmas and was welcomed to a decorated tree which was a nice touch.
Close to pubs and supermarkets, although you need your car unless you are happy to walk about 40 mins to the nearest pub. We loved it so much we’ve booked again to stay in June.

Very poor service.
Very poor service. Receptionist rude and dismissive when I arrived. Not given the room I had booked. Barely space to walk around the bed. Bar and restaurant closed at 8pm. Mini bar not topped up. No Wi-Fi code in the room. Coffee machine didn’t work. One tea bag!!
Overpriced . Avoid.
The room at Chris's house was amazing. We had the attic room and were treated to wonderful sunrises and sunset. Chris also provided a bowl of fruit, water and a good selection of teas, infusions and coffee. Normally, you only get this in a 4 or 5-star hotel. We got it at Chris's B&B ! ! ! The room was spacious and the bathroom had natural light ie: a window. Chris was a wonderful host with huge knowledge about the area. His B&B is also the perfect starting point to explore the South Downs.
Mike , who ran the show is a good guy but was not supported by sufficient staff. Staff shortages are being experienced by many hospitality outlets since Brexit. As a consequence some of our food at dinner could have been better or even the right meal. Having said that Mike did his best to put things right. Choice of 4 different ales helped as our stay coincided with record breaking temperatures. 33.5 degrees & 38 degrees. location is very good, close to Petersfield & ample parking.
Comfortable room, crisp white linen and towels, excellent large power shower. A table and two chairs, a television actually on the wall rather than those brackets sticking out (so often the case in hotels and which look like an afterthought) and Netflix. The room also had a radio and a coffee machine.
It looked as if the rooms, in an outbuilding behind the inn itself, were newly converted and because of their position were quiet.
The staff were helpful and friendly.
Fab family run hotel, with a welcoming & accomodating team!
Located in a charming little village about 10 minutes from Petersfield station. (1 hour train from Waterloo)
It's been completely refurbished & they've done a great job on the interiors. Modern & clean with some old local charm.
Breakfast gets a 10/10 - we'll have to return to try the evening food.
We'll are looking forward to returning in September with our bridal party for our wedding weekend.
The room was clean and comfortable with a very good shower. Plenty of room for the dog. Breakfast was excellent, with full English or other choices. I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Evening meals both nights were very good. All staff were very friendly. No charge for the dog and just to add that at the back of the hotel through a gate is a recreation ground where you can take the dog which is enclosed and safe to let them off the lead.
The location is excellent, in the middle of nature but easy access to Petersfield by car. Lovely grounds and outdoor seating area.. You wake up to a wonderful dawn chorus. The breakfast provided in the cottage is good and you can ask for refills if you need. Jenna and her family were very welcoming and generous. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a generous size.
A quiet little Inn away from all the commotion of the town/city. Friendly staff and an amazing little pub attached with delicious food! The room was very cozy and comfortable as well as very clean. The private bathroom was also very clean with fresh towels brought by every morning and a generously sized tub to soak in. Wi-Fi worked well in the area as well.
Very nice pub/inn on what was the old Portsmouth to London route. It's a bit outside of town, about 1.2 miles from the centre of Petersfield. I did expect that being on the A272 it would be noisy but that wasn't the case. The room was exactly as described with a comfortable bed, clean, good quality linen and a decent en-suite. Breakfast was very good too.
Stayed here for 1 night to attend a wedding at a venue up the road. The room was good, spacious, and clean, and the shower etc.. worked well. The bed was comfortable.
We ate both dinner and breakfast at the venue and would highly recommend the food made at the pub.
The place had a lot of character.I just loved it.I stay in a lot of Hotels due to my job.And this is one of the best. The staff Hassan and Georgia was brilliant. And it was one of the best Fish & Chips I have eaten Compliments to the Chef.
Comfortable bed and room, with lovely views over the beautiful garden. Friendly staff. Being able to stay in an historic family home run as an independent hotel. Special shout out to Laura and Val - nothing was too much trouble.
Felt like a home not an impersonal hotel. All requests were attended to by Chris who was the perfect host. The location was excellent, about a 10 minute walk from the main square.
Highly recommended.
Met Janet when we arrived. Made us feel very welcome. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. If I was holidaying in the area again I certainly would check if it was available.
Lovely staff, everything was quite straightforward. The room was quite pretty and the bed was amazing. All around, an excellent place to stay in Petersfield.
