The village is very accessible by car and well located for sightseeing; also good for walkers and cyclists as there are many paths in the area. The village itself has a petrol filling station, a pub and a a co-op at the far end of the (long!) village street. We visited Sherborne, Shaftesbury and Dorchester and found plenty of places to visit, including Thomas Hardy's birthplace, 2 castles and an abbey in Sheringham and Old Wardour Castle (follow English Heritage signs and do not trust your satnav for this one!). Also not far from the fascinating variety of the Dorset coast.MargaretUnited Kingdom
