The staff were amazing. We had a pet friendly room and it was ok, not amazing but just ok.

This was a great little place with a great location near Blenheim palace. Comfy bed, lovely breakfast, friendly staff

Arrived slightly early (20 mins) but room still not ready, waited a further half hour and were told we would have upgrade to larger room however reception experience not great. Room was clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Evening meal poor, menu incorrectly typed leading to confusion and food overcooked and tasteless. Breakfast buffet very tired looking, bacon inedible, mushrooms tough and fried egg solid as opposed to runny. Overall impression hotel being run on a shoestring with young inexperienced staff and no evident management guidance.

We used this location as it is close to a railway station into Oxford. Parking at the station appeared to be free as we could not find a pay machine.
We also used the Oxford park and ride - it was excellent and very reasonably priced.
I also played golf at Kirtlington (about 10 miles away). Great course and a very friendly club.

book evening meal before your stay.
book evening meal before your stay. We were not able to because of staff shortages so therefore had to travel for evening meal. We would have had it at the hotel if possible as the standard of food for breakfast was great!

The hotel grounds, most facilities, and location were all good - the reason for selecting along with the price. Reservations made via Booking.com, with payment on arrival - for room and breakfast. However, it soon went wrong because breakfast seating (party of 6) was a problem - we were given excuses about too many guests and too few staff - even though they took our money as soon as we arrived. The first two days were embarrassing mainly because of staff attitude (not everyone, thankfully!).

The hotel is not in the village, but on a crossroads about half a mile away. The village did not seem to have much to recommend it. The pub was shut when we walked over, but that is not the point, the hotel is in a central area with lots of places to visit around.
We booked the Holt as it is advertised as Dog friendly, and they didn't lie. The staff treated our little dog like a star. The room was large and clean. The buffet breakfast was very enjoyable and just what you needed to start the day. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Oh, all the staff were friendly. During our stay a wedding was taking place and the restaurant was consequently fully booked. However, we were advised that the local pub in Steeple Aston was good value. A short walk later and the advice was faultless, a good meal and a pint.
The hotel is in a great location for the local sights. The accommodation is accurately represented in the hotel description. The room, including the shower room, was exceptionally clean and the bed was really comfortable. Having returned to the hotel quite late into the evening, on one of the nights, it was beautifully peaceful outside with hardly any traffic noise, which was surprising being so close to a busy road in the daytime. It is a treat out in the countryside.
Fantastic location with short drive to Bicester village and excellent Lebanese restaurant just 5mins away. The hotel itself is picturesque and the breakfast was wonderful. Staff were friendly, helpful and polite, and were quick to respond when we mentioned there was a dog barking continuously. Room was spacious and perfectly decent but bathroom could do with some updating.
Lovely property, absolutely nothing within walking distance other than a petrol station with a shop. I went alone with a small dog and we had a lovely time, the staff were lovely and very welcoming. Grassy area at the back of the hotel that the dog was able to use.
Very nice hotel with excellent staff and service provided could not do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast buffet was fantastic and plentiful and even did a plate of sausage for my dog! Would definitely stay again.
Location and parking for access to Silverstone back roads was why I chose the hotel. Was presently surprised at the quality. Very nice bar and resultant with very good food.
