As we have stayed at Haddon House before we knew it was an excellent hotel. Very comfortable rooms, lovely food and a nice ambiance.

Very well organised and comfortable, perfect for relaxing. Really liked the little touches such as leaving classic fm playing in the room before returning after day out.
Beds are super comfortable too.

The "reception" area in the pub is a little chaotic but the greeting was warm enough and check-in easy. The room, with a view over the side of the pub and the river beyond was clean and had everything we needed including a hospitality tray. The bathroom was modern, light and spacious. The room could use new carpet and, maybe a bit of a refresh but it was all clean and perfectly serviceable. The George is well positioned for everything that West Bay has to offer. Breakfast was generous and freshly cooked with an excellent choice. There is also parking for residents at the side of the hotel but the seagulls pose a bit of a problem and our car looked as though someone had thrown a bucket of white paint over it come the morning. It was so bad that we had to borrow the hotel's hose to clean the worst of it off and find a car wash later in the day. It might be nice if they considered erecting some form of awning to keep the worst of this off the cars although I appreciate that with the seaside come seagulls! All in all not a bad stay but we felt that a little more attention to detail could really elevate this place (eg flower tubs and baskets, wash the seagull poop off the front elevation, better presented reception, small fridge in the room etc etc).
Offering a garden and garden view, Cottage en-suite room with private lounge is set in Bridport, 43 km from Monkey World and 16 km from Dinosaurland Fossil Museum.

We went in October, there are lots of places to visit, we visited Lyme Regis, West Bay, Charmouth, Seaton, and some nearby beaches where we stayed ie. West Bexington and the Hive beach. All the places are easy to reach as you have the A35 running right through it only takes from 20-40 minutes to reach each one . The coastline is stunning and ideal if you want to unwind and there are plenty of places to eat there are signs every where that serve food from 12pm to 9pm. We ate in Morrisons in Bridport, it's easy parking there too, and is cheap. We took our dogs, they can run free on most beaches in October but restrictions apply between May to September, also the sea can be rough so keep an eye on your dogs.
