Located halfway between Edinburgh and Gretna Green my wife to be and I stayed here just for a night before eloping the following day. We had the place to ourselves, our room was very spacious and tastefully decorated and dinners and breakfasts we had in the Ghillie restaurant were excellent. A very memorable start to our visit to Scotland for all good reasons.

Backbrae House is exceptional.....a Jewel in Cainwath The House is beautiful & set in an idealic location with outstanding views. The facilities were perfect - comfortable, cosy & quiet.
