The space inside, the furnishings, the wet room shower was brilliant after a long day of walking! Bed was huge and really comfortable. Home was stocked with all the basics for cooking which is always super helpful and the hosts were very helpful and easy to contact. Soundproofing was great near the m6. Check in was simple!

Wow, the food, great quality from a limited choice, but no doubt varies during the year. The remote location and the Art Deco appearance add atmosphere to the culinary enjoyment from Breakfast through to Dinner. Fantastic service and attention from the staff and owners.

A perfect spot to enjoy the Lakes whilst only minutes from the M6. Quiet location and I had views into the countryside.
Lovely fresh breakfast and perfect leaf tea.
The hosts couldn’t have been better and went out of their way to help me.

I travel up and down the M6 to/from Hereford to Oban fairly regularly. It’s a long an arduous journey particularly in the winter. Westmorland is a godsend of a hotel almost exactly half way and is an oasis of comfort and warmth literally at the side of the motorway. I love the convenience, the comfort, the friendliness and the fact you feel you are on the moors and a million miles from a motorway. You could not wish for a better night stop to recharge your batteries. Be sure to ask about the secret road between north and south services especially for hotel customers- so you can easily access the hotel when travelling south (because hotel is on M6 North)

Tebay services…. what a fabulous cocooning experience!
Tebay services…. what a fabulous cocooning experience! I came off the M6 on a wild wet dark evening and stepped into simple luxury and contemporary cosiness - I left the next morning early, completely restored.
I was journeying from the borders of scotland to the south coast and realised I’d run out of energy for the drive- an unplanned stop- but having experienced sitting by the open fire with my book after a delicious simple supper, slept in a divine comfortable bed, a nice hot bath -a delicious breakfast - i’ll make the time to stop here EVERY time i pass from now - special thanks for the gluten free and vegan options tebay!

There was a well stocked farm shop within walking distance, a great pub which was reasonably priced with a good menu. The food was delicious, it had an outdoor beer garden and lit up seating area, a play park for the kids, it played great music and had a good atmosphere, everyone was so friendly.
Tebay has many local walks, it is in the perfect location, in between the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales.

Central location, ideal for exploring the area.
Central location, ideal for exploring the area. Hotel very good. Service top class. Plenty of breakfast options. Can eat at service station at any time. Good variety to choose from. Recommend the farm shop. Food any local crafts available.
Welcoming staff and lovely accommodation. The lounge with a real log fire was very relaxing. The environment in and around the hotel is really pleasant, making use of natural materials reflecting the beautiful countryside all around.
Breakfast was excellent, with stunning views across the duck pond to the fells in the background through the large restaurant windows.
The room was quiet and comfortable and tastefully decorated.
Overall, my stay exceeded my expectations.
Nice friendly family owned b&b. Close to M6 but you wouldn't know it - Old Tebay has a village feel, no noise from the motorway. Local pub 5 minutes walk away. West and you're straight into the lake district, or east into the yorkshire dales. Had a double room single occupancy - comfortable & clean, good shower. Just had cereal & toast breakfast, but cooked breakfast on offer looked good. Lack of tv in the room might deter some.
The room was pleasantly located with a view across countryside. Sight of the distant M6 was inevitable but the traffic noise was hardly discernible. The room itself was comfortable and quite adequate. Food in the restaurant was superb and the hotel had an overall friendly and ambient atmosphere with a welcoming open fire in the lounge.
Our third stay, perfectly located with easy parking and MWay access en route to Scotland.
We take three rooms, have a fabulous dinner in the locally supplied restaurant, indulge in a full breakfast and use our discount voucher to stock up at the farm shop.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming and we will be back.
Everything, it was absolutely lovely, tucked away in the village of tebay, made very very welcome, fabulous owners, made us completely at home, the room was perfect for us and the dogs, clean bed hot shower, beautiful food homecooked. we will definitely go again. a secret jewel tucked away. PERFECT x
Great location, approx 5-10minutes from Tebay Services and the M6. Remote location with plenty of privacy. Loved the open plan living room and kitchen facilties. The design of the barn, the games room and sauna/steam room all very good features. The design / decor were impressive and well thought out.
Spacious room in a convenient location for being on the way to the lakes. Unlike other hotels in this price bracket, it had been decorated more recently than 1970 which was a pleasant surprise! The veggie breakfast set me up for a trip to swim in the waterfalls recommended by the friendly owners.
The setting of the hotel despite being on the motorway is very serene. The communication with the booking team in the lead up to the stay was excellent. They realised as a family party of 10 across 3 rooms, they provided the menu a week before for us to pre-order.
The Westmorland Hotel could not be more conveniently located for those travelling on the M6, given that it is adjacent to the Tebay Services. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We also had dinner at the hotel, which we enjoyed very much.
Having asked directions and being led to the hotel by an angel of a local farmer, the staff were doing their best to accommodate all wanting to shelter from the snow and bad road conditions.
A really lovely B&B hosts were very friendly and made a lovely breakfast for us. Location is just off the motorway at Tebay so was an ideal location for us.
Excellent location and very good locally sourced food. Scrambled Egg and salmon fur breakfast was superb. All food well presented and visually pleasing.
