My wife and I both loved the nature - like setting, with various animals freely roaming around the lawn and view of the lake and surrounding trees. The lake is also fantastic for fishing, especially for Carp, I had the best time ever. With only four lodges, of which ours was very clean, modern and comfortably furnished, and a small camping pitch, the whole site was very peaceful, which was just what we needed for a very relaxing week, and the owners were very friendly and always on hand if ever needed without being intrusive. A lovely place and ideal for our visit to rural Devon and Cornwall.

We loved every minute of our holiday and were sad to leave. Couldn't have stayed in a more chilled environment. Helpful and friendly hosts who work exceptionally hard, thankyou Paul and Lisa. We stayed at Thornbury Holiday Park (excellent) and food was very good. Also had a meal at the Rydon Hotel which was also good. Holsworthy was the nearest town, with a couple of pubs, several shops and cafes. We had a couple of cream teas which were lovely. Not a lot to do in Thornbury so we drove to Bude (Cornwall) several miles away, but it was a lovely drive along good roads. The town of Bude is lovely, with plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. Also a few lovely beaches. I have a broken leg at the moment, so we went to Widemouth Bay beach where there was a ramp down to the beach for my wheelchair. It was easy for me to walk with my splint boot to sit on the beach on the camping chairs we brought with us. We were very lucky as the sun shined during the whole of our stay. There were several people in the sea including children watched over by lots of Lifeguards, so very safe for Families.RAYMOND BIRDUnited Kingdom
