The staff here are unbelievable, really looked after us during our short stay. The pub is beautiful in a wonderful location. The food is home cooked and delicious. Best variety of Ales in the Thames Valley.

Breakfast ok, but not up to the usual standards in those little places.

We loved our stay here - beautiful location, very comfortable and well appointed room, excellent service, fabulous food! The walks along the Thames and 'inland' were great and the village is very pretty!

Nice market town next to the river. Offers a full range of shops, cafes and restaurants. We ate in the Old Post Office which was nicely laid out and served a wide selection of dishes. There are also a range of independent shops and walks along the river.

Lovely little town.
Lovely little town. We came for the 1940s day out at the steam railway. People very friendly. Had lovely meal at The Old Post Office. Nice pubs. Impressive Agatha Christie monument. Would definitely recommend a visit. Note that Sundays a lot of the shops and restaurants are closed.

This town has something for everyone.
This town has something for everyone. Thames Riverside walks, steam railway, castle and connections to Agatha Christy. Start with the museum which is superbly laid out and then explore the period of history that interests you inthe town.

Fab location & Good shower but that’s it.
Fab location & Good shower but that’s it. Disorganised in-house, very young people on breakfast duty with no idea whether ordered food or not. Minimal facilities , small room & filthy throughout apart from breakfast & dining area. Nobody on reception on arrival or vacating hotel. Should be fabulous but lack of management was poor.

Learn about Matilda and Stephen's history and stay for half a day, meandering through the town, visiting Agatha Christy place.
The Old Post Office is a nice place for food and drinks.
And the remains of the castle good to walk around
The room itself is beautifully furnished with comfortable beds, spotless facilities, and nice added touches such as porridge and decent coffee and tea bags. What takes it to another level is how Tim and Annie welcome and make you feel comfortable! The room is right next to the main house and shares the front garden area, but the room is fully private and we were welcome to use the lovely Summer House and seating area next to The Thames. I genuinely can't think of a nicer place to stay in Wallingford, and I hope to be back soon!
This was a last minute stay after a holiday was cancelled at the 11th hour due to Storm Arwen. Our stay was so good that it helped soften the blow! A fabulous hotel with fantastic staff and food to die for. Nothing was too much trouble, everything was well thought out in the rooms and as a bonus it has a great little gym. It was lovely to get to stay so soon after the hotel opening as it was still so shiny and new. We will definitely be back!
The apartment was very central to Wallingford, and the facilities were excellent, with a very good TV (inc. Amazon video and Netflix), a coffee machine and everything else we needed.
There was plenty of parking available nearby, both overnight on-street near the house and for daytime in a public car park (about 200 yards way).
Lots of information about the town and surroundings, transport, resaurants etc.
What a lovely lace to stay from the moment we entered the hotel. Jim and his team were just fab. Nothing was too much trouble. They were fantastic with my granddaughters who are faddy eaters as well as being so nice to my grandson with autism. The rooms were clean and boutique in style. So Handy for wallingford and the river. The family and staff and goose the dog were amazing thank you
A lovely welcome: self-contained accommodation above the pub and comfortable twin beds (as requested). Our host supplied a complimentary breakfast in the room of cereals, milk/fruit juice/ choc croissants which was very considerate for (Ridgeway) walkers wanting an early start. Despite having a room/windows facing a main road through Wallingford it wasn't noisy in the middle of the night.
The staff are wonderful and offered a very warm welcome as soon as I walked in the door. The room was great with a very comfortable bed. The shower was strong and hot. The dinner menu was limited, but the pizza was great. Breakfast was very good with great sausages. I would love to stay in the hotel again.
The hosts were very hospitable and had a great knowledge of the area. Nothing was too much trouble. The location is very peaceful and a 5 minute drive from Wallingford town centre. Approximately 45 minutes from the Cotswolds. Very enjoyable 4 day stay.
This is beautiful old hotel on the river. It is exactly what you would expect from a rural hotel. We loved the breakfast, the rooms were clean and the bathrooms recently refurbished. The staff were pleasant and efficient.
Fantastic hotel and amazing staff who made us both feel very welcome.
Faye went over and above, recommending and booking a table for us at a local restaurant where the food was incredible.
Will definitely be returning!!
Every single member of staff we encountered, from housekeeping and maintenance to reception and bar staff, were lovely and a credit to the hotel. Rooms were stylish and pub area was quirky and comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent and the location is good, close to the main roads to Oxford & Reading and obviously Wallingford which is a lovely town.
It benefits from being nice & quiet in the evening.
Very handy place to stay for the night when in Wallingford. Nice rooms, well furnished, good location. I arrived at 11PM and left at 8AM so didn't get to check out much apart from the room.
Super friendly receptionist; setting and tables by the river are amazing; easy to find; quiet even though close to road. Would return even though we believe the hotel has seen better days.
very relaxed atmosphere- small menu - nice food - breakfast good - quiet location - not far from Wallingford- walkable — staff friendly and helpful - would definitely recommend !
