The old Forge is an old building but very well maintained and we were very comfortable . We appreciated our host's generosity and the delicious cooked breakfast.
We were the only guests there as the hosts had to leave the next morning so had not taken more bookings. In deference to our early booking and the fact we were from Australia and possibly in the middle of our trip, they let our booking stand. We really appreciated this.
A real positive for this accommodation is that there is parking at the premises, and it is free. (Often "parking available " means paid parking in a council car park.)

Lovely, helpful staff. Excellent food. The rooms at the back of the hotel and much quieter as they are not immediately facing the street.

Breakfast was offered on the homepage, but we found a notice in the room that breakfast is no longer offered.
The "view into the garden" was the picnic area / outside seating of the pub, crowded and very loud until midnight.

I loved the fact it was in the sticks lovely, quiet and dark. Loved the old houses so was cool to spend the night sitting in the gardens and looking out into the fields also my home only as a shower so I was making the most of the bathtub.
Had a little visit from the owner's dog in the room and felt very much like I was at home
Also, the owner was very helpful as I forgot my charger so I could charge my phone to get home the next morning.
The breakfast was amazing definitely would stay again.

We stopped here for one night, to go to a wedding nearby. The place had everything we could have needed, with an especially comfortable bed and a lovely powerful shower. There village was also lovely but we didn't get the chance to have a proper explore. The host was super lovely, whilst the house is connected, there is a good separation for the annex that we stayed in and we didn't hear anything through the walls etc.

The Blackboys Inn is a very nice property and well managed. All the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The room was interesting: a living area on the ground floor and a mezzanine bedroom. The food was good, if a little overpriced (some dishes more expensive than London pubs!). My only poor experience was tough lamb rump.
