The location is great; next to the Atlantic Ocean, and the beach is a few steeps away from the property, the US embassy is within 10 minutes drive from the property. You get the African feel; it really feels right at home. Staffs seem happy to be there and they do a great job.

The lodges are comfortable with ensuite bathroom and shower.
The lodges are comfortable with ensuite bathroom and shower. There isn't AC but was plenty comfortable enough with a ceiling fan. There is hot running water in the room when you need to have a warm shower although most of the time I took a cool shower. I moved here from one of the 'Hotel Castles by the Sea' that were overcrowded and overpriced for the standard of accommodation there. Kotu Island lodge presents a friendly, personal and quiet atmosphere. You can chat with Terry, the owner who is a very nice man. True Gent! Its only a few minutes walk to the beach and you get the great atmosphere of living in amongst the community. I wholly recommend a stay here. Thak you Terry. You are a great host.

Everything was perfect but there is little chance to come...
Everything was perfect but there is little chance to come back because of the most boring people in Africa you will meet on street on the sunbeds, on the beach, in the supermarket. My brother, my family, one big family, they have no work and they dont want to work, just to bother you. Old laidies like that attention which is awful to see

Lovely beachside with many cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
Friendly locals and nice relaxed atmosphere.
Raggainights on fridays at Dominos on the beach are musts. Begin the evening at the restaurant “Jamaica” nearby.
Make sure to visit the chrokodile pool in Bakau and the market in Serakunda.
For easy transportations use the green taxis.
Fantastic location 30m from wonderful Kotu beach and Ali Baba leisure beds & beach bar...comfortable basic rooms (fab Grohe rain shower in ours) and with a lovely pool. Gardens with birds, monkeys and a few cats, not forgetting the giant tortoises. Woken each morning to the sonorous notes of the Bulbuls. Food OK albeit service sometimes slow...allowance, this is Gambia! 😄
Loved the layout. Friendly service. I booked my initial reservation online and when I showed up they didn't have anymore rooms available, so I was turned away. I rebooked for a few days later. I enjoyed my stay, but I thought the walls were very dirty for this level of hotel. Everything else was good. Nice menu offerings for both dinner and breakfast.
I recently stayed at this hotel, attracted by its beautiful landscape, pool, and overall grounds. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurants were incredibly accommodating, making the experience enjoyable. The food at the restaurant consistently impressed me, and the breakfast offered a variety of options
The hotel was beautiful and the staff in the restaurant and pool are lovely and attentive.
The cleaning staff are amazing and did such a great job and really accommodated us when I asked for birthday decorations in the room for my friend.
The room and grounds are beautiful and well with the money.
Well situated in Kotu almost on the beach. Rooms were of a good size and had A/C & beds were comfortable. Breakfast available from 7,00am which was important for us because we were out on bird watching tours each morning at 7,30. WiFi fast at bar / reception area
Exceptional staff, everyone was super friendly and helpful! The food was good and reasonably priced. Within walking distance to the beach. Look up the address on Google Maps, Booking.com is one street off at the moment.
Kalimba hotel was closed when we arrived however we were given a room at the sister hotel Sunprime Tamala hotel. This place was great! I would highly recommend you stay at either of the hotels as they are identical.
The beach was beautiful, and we saw some washed up jellyfish and a blowfish. The pool area was nice, and I enjoyed seeing the acrobats. The food at the restaurant was delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself is fine, yet heavily overpriced. Some of the staff were helpful and nice and the manager was a decent bloke. The shower was nice and the atmosphere and the live band was also quite relaxing.
This hotel is definitely home from home. The rooms are luxurious with EVERYTHING you need at no extra cost. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is within a 2 minute walk to the beach. Fantastic
Great Hotel. Good breakfast and quite friendly staff too. Close to the beach with spacious rooms. The mosquito nets in the rooms were an added necessary bonus!
