As a single female travel I felt very safe and the staff were very attentive. They helped me set up a bird watching tour and suggested where to eat etc.
Nicos who was boat owner and guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the birds and wildlife. The village is a few kilometres from the lake so transport is needed but there are tavernas and a shop within yards. I would definitely return. We stayed for 3 nights in Hotel Limnaio.

Lake Kerkini and surrounding countryside is a must for nature walking and visiting. We found some good eating in both Chrysohorafa and nearby Iraklia. The square in Chrysohorafa was withing easy walking distance and Iraklia was about a 20 minutes drive. The activities available, such as bird watching, country walks, cycling, archery, horse riding can be arraned with the extremely helpful owners at Limnaio Hotel.
