We loved the view over the roof tops and the partial sea view. The staff were exceptionally friendly and indulged my attempts at Greek for which many thanks! The breakfast was pretty good. We are vegan and it can be hard to cater for us but we didn't go hungry, and we provided our own plant milk. The hotel is very central but also quiet. A wonderful place to stay.

Sitia isn't of itself pretty, but the region that surrounds it is full of treasures from Minoan sites and geological wonders through to highly trekkable gorges and ravishing views. A car is essential and exploring is well worthwhile for the smiles per mile.

Sitia is a small town, not very touristy as it's so far east. You need a car to get to Sitia and it's not an easy drive. However, it's definitely worthwhile making the effort to get there as it's a lovely town with a great beach . There are lots of excellent restaurants overlooking the sea.

If you're looking for a not too touristic, rather quiet place (of course, worth the compulsory beach bars and restaurants area), not too expensive but still nice and with friendly locals, that's your place.
Not much to see/ visit in the city itself (not to say nothing at all) and also not the side of the island with a lot of stuff but I bet if you rent a car and go to Agios Nicolaos or the villages around you'll have a great time. Some stunning views on the way too!

I cannot tell if Sitia beach is good or bad, but on the eastern side of the island 20-30 km-s away there are fantastic beaches for sure.
The view of the town from the east is wonderful.
The stairs inside the town, with cats on them are charming.
The people are kind.
I could rent a car cheap, and travel around. I have seen nice places, for example the Toplou monastery...

Cute city, lovely beaches.
Cute city, lovely beaches. Kalamia beach had great vibes, music, best Greek yogurt.
Very very very steep and narrow roads. If you're not proficient with stick shift, get automatic or don't drive. Very scary to drive.
Otherwise if you are good with walked, great Greek village. Lots of nice restaurants.
Simple.
Nice place to stay in Sitia, the apartment was quite big with a full kitchen and beautiful views of the sea and Sitia town. The only issue with the place is that it is about a 10-15min walk out of Sitia town with part of the walk on the road (but it is flat). This is no problem if you have a car (which you can park in front of the apartment) but if you are walking it can be a bit long, especially in the dark or carrying groceries etc. The big terrace/balcony was also very nice. Otherwise a nice place to stay in Sitia.
Excellent apartment. Everything we needed. Coffee Pot, Fridge, Toaster, Washer, TV, Hairdryer, Living Room, Kitchen and Bedroom. Unbelievable views from the bedroom! Perfect location above all restaurants on the water. Parking was great! If and when we return to Sitia we hope this apartment will still be available! We had a vehicle however everything we needed after returning from our day of exploring was in walking distance! Even a mini market across the street!
Great location, short walk to Sitia's bars and restaurants. A nice balcony with a lovely view over the bay and side view towards Sitia. A beach across the road and a very nice pool area. We used the apartment as a hotel room eating out both at lunch time and in the evening. The apartment was cleaned every day. The family hosts were very friendly and helpful. Great value for money.
Absolutely amazing accommodation, wish we could have stayed for longer
Excellent communications with the host and an easy check in / check out process
The apartment is beautifully furnished and is fully equipped with excellent WiFi
Comfortable bed and the shower was excellent
The view over Sitia from the balcony is superb
We hope to stay here again when we return to Crete 😀
We really enjoyed our stay in Sitia. The apartment is clean and indeed really cozy. We felt really comfortable. The host helped us with everything and responded really fast. There were even some delicious snacks prepared when we arrived. Street parking was no problem for us (end of February) but be aware of all the small one-way streets in Sitia.
Lovely renovated stone house with a wonderful view. We enjoyed our stay very much. From fresh oil to raki, everything was in the house. We loved to have our breakfast at the terrace before starting to explore the east of Crete. A very good place to discover Sitia, Vai and the mountains. Thanks to Manos and his lovely family. They are so kind!
The hotel is great and we felt very comfortable even though the facilities are bit older. The stuff is kind and helpful. The beach is clean and nice although the entrance to the sea is not very comfortable because of a bigger pebbles. Hotel is providing towels for a beach that can be changed in the hotel’s spa.
Nektarios was the most gracious host! Oceanides was the perfect place for us to rest our heads for a quick trip to eastern Crete. Nektarios and his family were so wonderful and provided amazing recommendations. We hope to return sometime in the future! Highly recommend.
We had the superior double room with the extra large roof top veranda. Location was excellent on the harbor front next to restraunts and shopping.. The breakfast was good but only cold items like boiled eggs, cold ham and cheese. The hotel has a private parking lot.
Bella mare is up on the hill with a great view of the town of Sitia and has one of the most incredible sunsets I have ever seen. It is located near the famous beaches of Sitia and in 7 minutes you can be at the city center for a drink of grab some food.
Nice family run Guesthouse on the edge of town overlooking the small Port with views of the arriving and departing ferries. If using the ferry it's a perfect destination.Comfortable, clean, spacious room with nice balcony view.Reasonably priced.
Our stay was easy and calm! Sitia is a small town with beautiful things to do and nice beaches and places! Polydoros and Mary are very generous and the house has an amazing view and nice decoration. Thank you for all!!
Strongest wifi I have had in Crete

Modern bathroom with lots of hot water
A kettle in my room

Everything!!

Perfect location in the center of Sitia and next to the beach. Nice room, Simple but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great. The pool on the roof top is really is a find.
Pleasant old style Greek hotel, clean, comfortable, friendly. There is a drying rack provided on room balconies. The front desk staff were particularly helpful.
Nice view, clean and spacious apartment, great location to explore the eastern part of Crete. The hosts were very kind and gave us useful tips about the area.
