This stay was wonderful. George and Eleni were lovely hosts. We were able to contact them via WhatsApp which made it so convenient. Their villa is private, quiet and the perfect distance away from Herakleion. We felt very safe. When we arrived we were offered fresh fruits from their garden (I ate so many fresh oranges!) as well as some snacks. We made use of the kitchen and felt very much at home. We had an amazing time and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted. There was plenty of hot water, great wifi signal and the bed was comfortable.

Built in 1925 and classified as a monument, the GDM Megaron is located in the heart of Heraklion, overlooking the old Venetian port and within walking distance of all the major sights of the city.

The hotel is right off the water at the port. We had a room overlooking the harbor. We enjoyed watching the ships come and go. There was a nice balcony where you could stand and enjoy the water. (See photos) The room was nice and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was spacious with a great tub! The breakfast buffet was outstanding with a huge variety of offerings. It was one of the best I've ever experienced and the restaurant staff was friendly and attentive. It is a little bit of a walk to the historic part of town, but we didn't mind.
