The hotel is not on the island of Flores, but it’s only a 10 minute walk to the island. It’s also only about 5 minutes away from the airport by taxi, which is great!
(For a great taxi use Oscar. He’s on WhatsApp + 502 40205815 —sometimes he’ll send an associate. He has great/fair prices). The hotel is also close to a supermarket and atm and the best taco place in all of Guatemala is across the street.
We definitely took advantage of the pool since it was so hot!

Beautiful little island, very lively!
Beautiful little island, very lively!
The bright colors of the building and the nice sunset views by the water are a great + to this place, and it is very easy to get around
I recommend trying out the street food @tacospeches, very good and super cheap
The town is located 1h30 drive from the ruins of Tikal, and up to 6 shuttles leave daily to get you there
Would recommend around 3 days in Flores!

The island has really noce restaurants and night activities.
The island has really noce restaurants and night activities. it is really easy to get around and people is willing to help you with directions.
Prices are much higher on the island, so is better to buy the stuff you need (sun block for example) outside of Flores.
We had a local guide that took us for the sunrise on tikal were you get to enter the park at 4AM and walk in the jungle still at night.
Then we did the sunset in Yaxha which is amazing.
Flores is a 10 min drive from the airport, so its a really good point for staying.

Loved the walk around Flores and all the little shops.
Loved the walk around Flores and all the little shops. Great ice cream place on lakeshore. Yummy !
When we got tired from walking after 5 miles that day( not all there) we hired a tuk tuk to bring us back to the hotel. Will definitely be returning there for a longer stay.
Boat tours looked interesting for a future adventure.
We drove and had to get used to the one way streets to get around Flores and find our hotel but so worth the effort. Parking was not an issue though. We parked at hotel and took off on foot

Airlines are a mess.
Airlines are a mess. Avianca overbooked my flight into Flores and was booked the next day. Tag Airlines delayed 2 hours and 15 minutes my flight into Guatemala City. I have been seating at the airport in Flores over 4 hours and I am expected to get to Guatemala City around 0:30 Am (I was supposed to arrive at 10:15 pm)

The island of flores is small and easy to walk. sunset views...
The island of flores is small and easy to walk. sunset views are very good from rooftop bars / restaurants. All are within 5 -10 minute walk.
We chose to take a lake ride to El Mirador and then to the beach Playa Chechenal.
Many sites are available to take day trips .These can be very long days especially to Tikal. We went to Tikal independently and it is highly recommended. I would recommend at least 1 night if not two.
We stayed inside the park at Tikal Inn. It has air conditioning and a swimming pool , we were very pleased and staff is great.
Flores island is really tiny so it’s just 5-6 minutes walk from the shuttle drop off point (I love Petén sign) to the hostel. There’s a small kitchen with 4 gas hobs + fridge + coffee machine + clean plates and utensils + spices. Refillable water provided. The family helps to wash the dishes for us which is really nice. There are 2 shared toilets outside and a shower, and they’re clean. Bed was clean and decent but I didn’t have a good sleep because it was toooooo hottttttt in the room
Very good location, the sunset, eating and pubs were a 3 minute walk away. A store and eating places beside the hostal as well. Cold beer cheaper at the store then other places.. Walk across the steet with your beer and your sitting looking at the water. Bed comfortable, AC and WIFI good. Not all streets easy to get to in Flores. The taxi from the airport dropped me off very close to the hostal. Location location location and for a good rate.
The room had the best view. Lesbia was a fantastic host and sorted out our tickets. On arrival, we were concerned that we were across the lake, but we whatsapp to Lesbia, and she sent a boat to collect us. Its easy to get across. The local restaurant was great home cooked food and really cheap.. The room was huge with 2 double beds and really clean. The access to a kitchen was a bonus which was also spotlessly clean.
This place is beautiful and magical ♡ !
I loved the nature around—peaceful surroundings# stunning views# breathtaking sunset views# sunbathing at the lake#best Jamaica juice#the details in their garden#the pots#the wooden decks.
Furthermore, the staff was very kind, polite, and helpful. They even have boats to transfer you to the island of Flores in just 2 minutes! ♡
Muchísimas gracias para todo 🙏🏼
Best in the area! Good value for money, an amazing accommodation awareness. You get shampoo, soap and a clean towel. No hot water but it's not freezing and it's so warm outside so it's totally OK. It's better if you come with a group there because the communal area is not that comfortable, so it's not very social. Highly recommended!
I loved everything about it. my room was awesome with this great view.
The restaurant probably the best one under the “hotel” category. the staff was amazing, the front desk guy (can’t remember his name) was so nice on making things very easy.
100% convinced I’ll visit Isla De Flores again and for sure stay at this hotel.
My favorite hostel in Guatemala! Best decorated, amazing food and such comfy beds and on top of that the staff is amazing! Lonry and her beautiful smile welcomed me as family and made me feel at home right away. I stayed an extra night because of the friendly staff :)
Thanks for everything, and I will be back soon :)
We spent two nights here. If you looking for the best location in Flores.... This is it The reasonable price, the balcony with Lakeview and the free breakfast "a la carte" is the bonus for your money. You can enjoy the Sunset from your balcony. The airport is 5 minutes with taxi and about 30-40 quetzal each way.
Amazing location right in the center of Flores. Very lovely family own the hotel, and even though we speak little Spanish you could tell how kind and warm they were. Fabulous value and we felt right at home. Something about the energy of the people made us feel very welcomed! Thank : )
Peter, Eric and the whole staff will make sure that you have the best experience in Flores and Zapote Tree Inn. They help you with all your questions and go an extra mile to support you with your further travel arrangements. The food is great and the view over Flores is incredible.
Lovely hotel just outside Flores island. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean, quiet room (best nights sleep so far in Guatemala) nice pool area to relax,10 min walk to Flores or to waterside restaurants. Upstairs balcony was gorgeous for relaxing in a hammock. Would stay again.
The Rooms were very clean, spacious and with great lighting. Bed was very comfortable and it was great to have AC.
The location of the hotel is ideal, you can walk to any part of the Flores island.
They also have great restaurants downstairs!
The views from our super clean room made this hotel one of the most enjoyable stays we had in the Petén of Guatemala. The views overlooking Lake Petén Itza toward the little village of San Miguel made it a quiet and serene experience.
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Peten. The breakfast was always abundant and good. The staff was always nice and helpful. The location is excellent for walking around Isla de Flores and for watching sunsets!
We were disappointed with the location because we thought we were staying in Isla Flores, however the hotel was in Santa Elena not Isla Flores. I think booking.com should of been very specific about that.
It has everything you need if you're looking to socialize. Staff are kind and helpful and can't fault it. Best hostel in flores I recommend the bistro next door ❤️
The hotel staff were warm and welcoming. The view from room 301 was spectacular. Flores is still quiet and this side of the island was tranquil. Just fabulous.
