Every time we visit Gili Asahan, it feels like stepping into a dream. I've been coming here regularly, and I'm never disappointed. The atmosphere is peaceful and cozy, making it the perfect place to relax. Whether we enjoying the beach or just taking in the surroundings, it's always a lovely experience. A big thank you to the stuff for their amazing hospitality. They always make us feel welcome and taken care of.

The location was brilliant and it was fabulous being able to swim,SUP and kayak directly off the beach in front of Amahelia into the crystal clear water. The staff were divine and we were sad to leave. The Island is a true paradise and beautiful to walk around. It’s lovely interacting with the small local village and watching the comings and goings on the beach. We loved Amahelia !

Magnificent location right on the beach - snorkeling and swimming at your doorstep. Easy to get to with fast boat from Bali's Serangan harbour. Maree owns and manages this small resort and she and her staff are wonderful. Food is excellent. We and guests from nearby accommodations had all our meals at Alam Karang. For divers there is a dive shop next door. We were snorkeling and Maree arranged a not to be missed boat trip to three nearby islands. Alam Karang is just perfect!

Absolutely loved our stay at Palmyra and wish we could have stayed longer! The perfect little oasis for us to relax after Mount Rinjani trek - we felt spoilt by the serene location, waking up to roll into the sea, amazing food ( definitely try the Pepes and fresh barbecued fish with the most amazing spice marinade), massages (much needed for our sore legs), super lovely staff and a great day trip snorkelling. Loved the bungalows and sustainable cold water salt shower. Thank you, we felt so looked after! We’ll be back!

    Not the best island I have been too.

    Not the best island I have been too. Was quite hot with no air conditioning or tv. But was good to do without. Internet only available around the resteraunt. Because there was not much to do most people spent thier time on the internet. The italian resteraunt in the other hotel was crap. The biggest deterrent to most travellers was the amount of plastic floating around in the beaches. Not the fault of the hotel.

    This sea water is quite clear with very little plastic. The water is heavenly, with quiet seas because of it’s location. The hotel we stayed at was on the Lombok side of the island, so the seas were calm, and often still like a lake. This area feels quite remote, and you won’t see many if any tourists when you are boating around. So there is a sense of seclusion and being in a remote location. This would be a nice area to take a sailboat if you can find one to rent. They will be increasing the number of fast boats scheduled to go to this area soon, so that it’s faster to go direct to Gili Gede from Bali every day, instead of the twice weekly (Monday and Friday) schedule available now. We had to take a fast boat to Bengsal and drive 2 1/2 hours because we booked our hotel on a Saturday instead of Friday, not knowing that we couldn’t just get a fast boat direct to Gili Gede any day but Monday and Friday. There are only 4 places to stay on the island at this time, and we stayed at Amahelia, which is by far the nicest. Someone from Belgium is building a really nice resort on this island that will have 20 villas with private pools, we heard. It is still under construction. Gili Asahan is definitely worth adding to your list of places to go for a quiet, remote and peaceful trip, with wonderful seas to swim and boat in.

    This is a great place to relax and get away from it all.

    This is a great place to relax and get away from it all. Even during dry season, this place is still beautiful! The snorkeling right off the beach is amazing. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. There's several comfortable seating options by the beach. The restaurant offered varied options and every meal I had was great.
