Cant compare with indonesia's famous beaches but it is as much as you can get with a just little hop from bustling city of jakarta. Pramuka, compared to other islands in the region doesn't have wide sandy beach but there is possibility to immerse yourself in a laid back life of a indonesian small village with enough city living facilities.

There is nothing for tourists to see or do. It was the most boring trip. All of the restauarants around have poor hygiene. I saw so many people chopping food on the dirty floor and flies all around the food.

We only chose to stay at Pramuka Island in the bay of Thousand Islands because we only had a stopover in Jakarta for a few days and didn't want to stay in the city. Pramuka Island at least has a cleaner water around it than the islands closer to Jakarta but it's still a work in progress. YOu can see they are trying to develop and clean it for the tourists but the side of the island further away from the pier is repelling. There is rubbish everywhere including animal bones in the water. There is not even one nice beach just a little pier good for gettting into the water across from the Seribu Resort. Not easy to find a good restaurant or fresh fruit and vegetables. It's only good as a base for diving, snorkelling and island hopping.
