I MUST give this place a 5* but so tempted to give less as they promote elephant riding! No Pramana! Not OK! Please stop.
This place blew me away. Considering the low number of lodges that it has, it’s huge and still maintains a lovely vibe and doesn’t feel empty or soulless.
- LOCATION. If you like the sights and sounds of the jungle this is the place for you. You’re completely enveloped in the serenity of nature. Set in a small valley with a (I’m told ‘legendary’) river running through it, it’s just so peaceful. Despite being in the jungle they do a good job at keeping the mosquitoes at bay.
- EXTRAS. Every day you are invited to a complimentary Balinese afternoon tea. How wonderful. Every day they have a free activity e.g. a guided walking tour up the canyon etc. This tour is scheduled for Wednesday but I thought it was Thursday. When the reception staff saw I was disappointed I missed it they organised a private tour for me the following day for free. How amazing of them.
- BREAKFAST. Every day at breakfast (it’s a la carte) you’re presented with a lot of food, and you can have what ever you like.
- ROOMS. Fabulous. Four-poster beds with comfortable mattress and pillows, huge bathroom with hot, powerful shower, lovely lighting. They're well-kept with private balconies (not overlooked at all), oh they’re just so dreamy. They’re cleaned daily and even a turn down service later afternoon – which includes lighting coils to shoo away the insects.
- STAFF. Throughout they're so friendly and kind, especially the reception and cleaning staff – they can’t do enough to make your stay special.
It really felt quite magical and special and yet such good value for money esp. with breakfast and afternoon tea involved, and how special the accommodation is.
We were really sad to leave but have booked the Pramana on Nusa Penida so hoping for the same experience.

- Little flaws in the room (airco and fan not working properly)
- Little bit overpriced (laundry service, taxi service)
- Staff should put out cushions by the pool when pool opens (we had to ask after being there for 2 hours)
- The charge of 10% service fee on everything really bothered us.

The area is spectacularly beautiful however it cops a lot of rain and there can be land slides which cut road access. Our hotel (Adiwana Dara Ayu Villas) was a long way from other properties, so eating options (hotels, restaurants, local warungs) were non existent and sadly as the food in our hotel was abysmal (even the Indonesian was done badly) we skipped eating meals which diminished the pleasure of the holiday.

It is a relaxing place you can enjoy the rice terraces and crops around with this mystic that you can feel visiting the temples. Also, you can find many options to enjoy a relaxing bath in a waterfall.

Are you looking for a hidden gem staycation location with natural nuances?
Sacred Canyon Ubud Villa, in Melinggih Village, Payangan, Gianyar, Bali could be the right choice. It's the most suitable for couples. Enjoying honeymoon, relaxing, healing, trekking, yoga retreats, and as well as Balinese "melukat" (ritual for cleaning and purifying.our body, mind, and soul).
The weather is cool. Villa surrounded by trees, plants, and the natural gurgling of river. Many choices of food and drink. Very friendly and satisfying services.
Very nice jungle resort. The pool is very good and the view on photos is accurate. This place is located in local village with hardly any tourists. Its close to Ubud and you can get there, or to rice fields areas and back easily with use of taxi for reasonable price, or scooter that you can rent in resort. You can also just stay next to pool all day just to chill as they have kitchen available with food of reasonably priced and of reasonable standard. I would definitely come back in case I would get a chance in future.
The property was a bit out of the way, but that just made it more perfect. It was peaceful, and the surrounding area with the rice paddies was beautiful, lush and green. The scooter trip down to Ubud centre was easy, as was a trip to the Mount Batur caldera lake. The property itself was an absolute haven of relaxation. The manager assisted us with scooter rental, and the staff were always ready with smiles. The food was also good, and my husband loved the sauna. We will definitely stay here again.
this place is a piece of heaven hidden in the middle of the jungle. very comfortable bed, best sleep we had in days. the room is spacious and clean. the hotel have a good restaurant, good spa and such friendly staff that would go above and beyond to make sure your stay is wonderful! you’ll escape the busy loud life in Bali by coming here. so serene. they have this cute cable car that can take you half the way to the pool or river and it’s worth getting on for the ride.
One of the prettiest locations to stay in Bali if you would like peace, quite and overview of the jungle.
We had 2 bungalows booked and both had an amazing view and the feeling that you are alone in and with the nature.
Bathroom is open, there is hot water and toiletries.
Hotel provides shower and pool towels.
Good breakfast
Staff is helpful and really kind
Perfect location for a traveler who wants to enjoy peace
We are a family of 5 and the villas were very nice. The hotel personal was very kind all the time, willing to help whit every question we had. The food choices for breakfast were amazing and all in all it was very tasty. The Villas are a bit far from Ubud, but they have a free ride three times a day, so this is very usefull if you travel as a family.
This is our second stay after first time in 2019
And the room we got this time is exactly same room we had before, room no. 4
We love this hotel couldn't find any better than this coz its best value with everything we wanted to stay in Ubud. Nice paddy field view, glass walls and window, swimming pool, and not many rooms so feel nice and quiet
Made and Lana are so warm, welcoming and friendly! They've prepared a delicious little morning snack with coffee. The accommodation is clean, the room is big and spacious. Their garden is lush, green and beautiful and the surrounding area is peaceful, quiet and green, only 15 min drive from the busy Ubud central area. I highly recommend!
Wayan (the host) was extremely helpful and making sure all the time you have everything you need. We could rent there a motorbike for fair price. On the other hand, Wayan helped us extremely in the last morning (6 am) to get to Ubud by waking up his brother (he's a taxi driver) so he could drive us there (Gojek couldn't find a driver)
Outstanding hotel in a beautiful remote regional location. The staff couldn't do enough for us. I got Bali belly the day before I arrived and the attention I got was fantastic. A bunch of flowers were delivered to me saying get better soon and to ask for anything. My daughter who is a fussy eater said the food was amazing
The place is a little paradise. The pictures cannot do it enough justice. Nested in the heart of the jungle with beautiful scenery, very tasteful decoration and beautiful rooms. The service is excellent with attentive and kind staff. The food was the biggest surprise. It was the best food we had in Ubud.
