Room was basic but was sufficient for need. Bar was very very busy and was difficult to get a space that was not surrounded by other parties.
This 4-star hotel has a Championship golf course and is 5 miles from Athlone. All newly reformed rooms at the Glasson Lakehouse have free Wi-Fi, TVs and a room service menu.

We loved the Church of St.
We loved the Church of St. Peter and Paul - they feature vivid and colourful stained glass windows made by Harry Clarke. We were in there for way longer than we anticipated, the art was so detailed and interesting. We found handy parking round the back of the castle, but it was February and was quiet so no problems there.

Sean's Bar had a very good live music duo. We ate at The Fatted Cow, which served excellant food in a professional and friendly atmosphere. The town itself was easy to get around with good transport links to other towns and cities. It was a good place to be based at.

Front desk customer service was absolutely brilliant. THANKS to Eric the man is a legend. Good staff everywhere. Room was little hot but that was the weather we were having. ROOM was excellent Breakfast and a swim in the pool to it off .Thank-you one and all
At ten minutes walking distance from Athlone town centre and the train station, we got a full-sized 2-bedroom 1.5 bathroom appartment with all ameneties and well-equipped kitchen, all much bigger than we've had before when booking a self-catering appartment. We only stayed one night, so it was a pity we couldn't really enjoy it completely; this would be an ideal starting place if you want to explore this part of Ireland for several days.
Breakfast included special yogurt and locally cured ham. Great breads. Meeting Nancy at breakfast was special. As we were leaving, she came out to join Jim in wishing us well as we continued our journey across Ireland. Also enjoyed learning about the success of the family business, Woodfit Acoustics, now run by two Denby sons. The woodwork in the house is beautiful.
The receptionists was friendly and greeted me and my family warmly, we had dinner all the nights we stayed and every night the meals was exceptional and the added bonus parking at the hotel was FREE and in the area was a grocery, cafe, pharmacy and fast food place it was perfect for us. The rooms was clean and comfortable and the cleaning staff was so nice.
Excellent hospitality in the Radisson Blu Athlone.

The Hotel itself, is spotless and is located right inside the new town shopping centre.
Wonderful location for shoppers or for business persons.
The location is excellent for water sports and relaxation. About 7 minutes from Athlone Town and lots of parking available. The staff although very young, strive to make you feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for any of them they are the hotels biggest asset.
So clean and quiet. Stayed for a wedding in Athlone. Taxi was about 14euro each way and we had no problems getting one in and out.
Comfy rooms with bice spacious ensuites. Grounds are fantastic. Exceptional value for money compared to the hotels in the town 10/10
The room was spacious and very cozy. It felt very much "at home", and I enjoyed that feeling versus a sterile hotel feeling. The host provided a wonderful breakfast, and when my partner was feeling nauseous, they allowed me to bring up breakfast to him on a tray.
The location was right in the heart of Athlone and within a 5 min walk of the river and the old castle. From the hotel you has a great selection of Pubs and restaurants. One of the oldest Pubs in Ireland is neat the castle and it only a 5 min walk away.
Absolutely fantastic hotel, with the most amazing and helpful staff, to the night staff that was working, durning the early hours of Tuesday morning, thank you so much for helping with my son, you showed amazing compassion toward our family
Breakfast was ok. Dinner was delicious. Room was the best hotel room I ever stayed in. We had the Princess Grace Suite and wow! Will stay here definitely next time I am in the area. Gem of Athlone
It was so dreamy & dog friendly. The golf course should win an award or be on the top 10 golf course of Ireland. The resort itself was absolutely perfect in so many ways. Our family will be back.
Property was exceptionally clean.
Bedsheets were hotel standards.
Amenities were stocked.
10mins walk to Athlone town
2mins walk to a hotel bar
Quiet neighbourhood
Location was great for launching my boat at the adjacent slipway. It's a lively hotel - but comfortable. We enjoyed our one night stay. The breakfast was great!
