Duncannon is a beautiful village on the South Coast with a beautiful sandy beach. It is ideally located to explore the area with both Waterford and Wexford only a short drive away. Hook Lighthouse is 20 minutes away by car and is a must for anyone visiting the area.

We were there out of season so the village was shuttered, but seems charming and atmospheric. The local pub was good. The 800 year old lighthouse was very interesting and we didn't go to the haunted house as it was around Halloween and we didn't want to tempt the ghosties. The ruined church was very interesting. The beach is lovely and the seaview amazing as are the drives in the vicinity. Because the village was closed out of season we ate at home, but found everything we needed at SuperValu in Wellingtonbridge. My son had a small spot of car trouble but the garage there was able to help us. Parking at 10 Beachview was convenient and also in Wellingtonbridge and Duncannon village is within walking distance. I imagine in season all your needs would be met there. We visited New Ross which is not far and the younger family members went on a car trip to Waterford and around to the other side of the inlet by road. All the local people we met were friendly. We loved our stay there.

The village was pretty and very little traffic which was great, a beautiful beach to walk along, near other places of interest to visit. The one pub in the place did good food, a pity there wasn't another one or two just for choice. There is no shop so bring what you need with you!

Beautiful property in an ideal location looking out on the beach and sea. We travelled as a group of 4 friends and this property was ideal for us. All 3 bedrooms are en-suite, with a huge en-suite connected to the master bedroom on the ground floor. During our 4 night stay we ate at Roches Bar and at the Strand Tavern - the food in both was excellent. Waterford and Wexford are only a short drive away, and a trip to Hook Lighthouse is a must if you choose to stay in Duncannon.

We loved the bnb. We were lucky enough to get a good sunny and warm day so we took a dander on the beach, we were able to look out at the beach with a cuppa, it was very clean and the owners were lovely, they wasn't too clingy like some if the other bnb owners we've stayed with. We only came this far (4 hours 45 minute drive) to visit the famous loftus hall which we found out was closed due to the renovations to turn it into a hotel!
