The lobby exceeded our expectations, the room was small but nice, the staircase was no problem to carry up our fairly large suitcase.
With free private parking, the property is 2 miles from Skellig Experience Centre and 11 miles from O'Connell Memorial Church. Staff on site can arrange a shuttle service.

We liked everything about the property—location, facilities, parking, comfort, etc. But the best part of our stay was meeting Marie! She is very kind, friendly and warm. She even made sure we had snacks and breakfast items available in the room. We highly recommend staying at Skellig View Bluebell Rose & Kerry Cliffs and hope to return again ourselves. Delightful stay!

I particularly enjoyed our host Marie who is exceptionally helpful, warm, and welcoming. She even special-delivered baked treats on Portmagee's 'muffin day'.
The location is also wonderful and is in immediate proximity to the must-see sight of Kerry Cliffs.

Everything was so comfortable and well thought out amenities for travelers. Parking was a breeze as well. Woody their dog is such a sweetheart! We loved chatting with the owners. They were helpful and friendly - we could have chatted with them all day!
A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby.
A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby. Parking could be an issue in hi-season, There are scenic boat trips around the islands and can be booked at the hotel. Off-season is quieter but no live music.

I was only staying for one night and would have liked to have stayed for longer as the place had a lovely "feel"

Easy access to tourist options.
Easy access to tourist options. Cliffs of Kerry are on private property on the outskirts of Portmagee and entry cost was 5 Euros per person - good views and a bit of a climb from the car park.
The Skellings chocolate shop was great. You can try many samples of different types of chocolate before buying.
Many people travel to Portmagee for the 45 minute boat trip (one way) and landing on Skellig Michael. Landing is weather dependant - and not guaranteed. Puffins are adorable and plentiful. Guide at top of the steep 600+ steps climb up to the beehive huts was informative. Toilet facilities only at the arrival point to the island.
Brayhead Tower is over the bridge on Valentia Island with fabulous views out to sea towards the Skelligs and cliffs of Kerry. Car park is paid by a 2 Euro coin only. It is a LONG walk to the tower.
Tetrapod trackway is free, difficult to see the tracks but fabulous views. The slate works are close to the Tetrapod trackway but visitor information is limited.
We ate both nights outside at "The Fishermans Bar & restaurant" in Portmagee. Service is good and friendly. They serve fresh fish caught that day and it was delicious.
The smalll supermarket is not well stocked with pre-filled rolls/sandwiches and appears to have limited supplies - suggest you shop at Cahersiveen or Sneem if you are self catering.

Had a fabulous trip to Portmagee.
Had a fabulous trip to Portmagee. The accommodation was brilliant, everyone was comfortable and the Liz the owner was very helpful.
The Royal Hotel on Valentia has beautiful food.
The Fisherman in Portmagee do the some of the best seafood I've ever had.
Kids loved the beaches.
Went kayaking off Valentia also in Kingstown, very enjoyable and affordable.
An exceptional place, perfect location and a perfect view.
The house is nicely renovated with a separate area for the guests. We had the room with sea-view which made the stay even better. Quiet place, close to Portmagee for our trip to Skellig.
Clean rooms, hosts which helped with our questions (we even could get a charger for our Canon camera which we forgot at home - a one out of a million luck chance!! :-) ). Nice breakfast options in the dining area of the hosts - with view to the sea.
I can only fully recomend.
The room was clean and quaint and had everything we could possibly need. We cooked in the studio apartment and it had all utensils and appliances needed. The location is quiet and remote but the town of Portmagee is only a short drive in. It is worth the trip alone for the jacuzzi and sauna that Paula provides on site with the beautiful views of Valentia Island. A beautiful home.
We chose the location rather randomly but it turned out to be very convenient to the things we wanted to see and do. It's about 2 km from Portmagee, and the Cliffs of Kerry attraction is walking distance. It was very quiet. It was nice that a bit of breakfast is provided: we got - for 2 of us - 4 pieces of bread, 2 eggs, some butter and jam, as well as tea and biscuits.
Host Paula very friendly and helpful. Room was absolutely spotless as well as ensuite. Beautiful view from the window. Two minutes drive from portmagee with restaurants and pubs. Food was smashing in the bridge bar/moorings restaurant. 10/10 would definitely recommend Skellig port accommodation and will definitely come back to stay again.
A wonderful location in the centre of Portmagee. We had a nice, clean, and spacious room. I am sorry that we only got to spend one night. They offer an opportunity to have an early breakfast in case visiting the Skellig Michael. I cannot comment on their regular breakfast. Parking is possible in the street or in a car park nearby.
The owners were so sweet and welcoming. The property was really pretty and well maintained. I loved the fact they had animals and literally farm fresh eggs for breakfast. The room was large, and the shower was the largest I have seen in Ireland. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing.
Though Portmagee is pretty small, this house is right in the middle of town. Spacious, full amenities, comfortable bed and good shower. This is a 3 bedroom, 4 bed house and I only used one of the rooms, but the full kitchen and dining would make this ideal for an extended stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed the visit to Portmagee and the stay in Skellig Port accommodation, Paula was a fantastic host and she went above and beyond in order that we were able to extend our stay and that was very much appreciated. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
We stayed in Atlantic Sunset to be near for our boat trip out from Portmagee to Skellig Islands. It was a perfect location for this trip and because we were leaving early in the morning it was great to have our own little kitchen in our room to have breakfast.
The house is perfectly located on the main street of Portmagee with a general store just across the road and restaurants/pubs just a short walk away. There is a lovely fireplace in the kitchen and a spacious bathroom with bath and separate shower.
It was a nice quiet location not far from Portmagee with cows and the sea for a view from the jacuzzi. Paula was very kind and welcoming. Gave us good options for food in town. The apartment was spacious and homey.
This place is lovely. Short walk into centre of Portmagee. Beautiful surroundings. Very clean. Spacious room. Quiet at night, I got a great night's sleep. Owners are very friendly.
Very clean comfortable room. Great location right over the road from the marina.
Close to pubs and cafes.
Great halfway point around the Ring Of Kerry/Skellig Ring.
