I believe India's fourth largest populous city, so it's huge. Liked the Tuk Tuk rides in crazy city traffic. The museums were good plus amazing Hindu temples. The general vibe of a large Indian city. Felt always safe.

Must visit. People are warm. Culture is open ended.
Must visit. People are warm. Culture is open ended. Malls especially amba is my all time favourite. Had food from mainly vegetarian restaurants. I would avoid taking taxi next time as public transport is still perfect in chennai. Getting around in taxi and auto is faster in this city. You can take a walk even in the night as people are respectful towards fellow human beings.

Beautiful place and nice people, though it was said, they only talk in Tamil, I found it incorrect coming from North India, they helped, in trains, taxi, Ola etc. Nice food. Good beaches, very good traveling measures, nice places around Chennai too.
Only it was hot for me...

Chennai is a surprisingly modern city in that its facilities and modes of transport are smooth and seamless. The metro is very convenient. The residents of Chennai, especially at their professions, have a pleasant professionalism and competence. While Chennai is warm, it isn't uncomfortably so.

Chennai is a huge, noisy, dirty city with horrendous traffic and very few tourist attractions. We only stayed there for a night at each end of our trip as we flew into and out of Chennai airport. I wouldn't bother spending any more time there than is necessary for transit to be honest.

Shopping in Chennai is good, but due the on going metro phase 2 works the city is conjusted with hravy traffic. As the city itself is connected with the sea the climate particularly now is very hot and humid
My stay at Gsilver Nungambakkam was simply fantastic. From the sleek and modern design to the impeccable service, every aspect of the hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms were beautifully appointed with comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms, and thoughtful amenities. The location in Nungambakkam was also ideal, with easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Whether you're a business traveler or a tourist exploring Chennai, Gsilver Nungambakkam offers a chic and contemporary retreat that's sure to impress.
I stayed there for three days as I had a meeting in a hall close to this residence. This is the most economical hotel that I found in this area. The room had enough space for a solo traveller like me. The AC was new. There was a heater which I didn't use. Overall this is a suitable stay for those with a TWO-WEELER. The hotel is situated in a residential area, so suitable for couples and families too. The restaurants nearby are very local but they sell good food Still I got Idlies for Rs 10/-. No mosquitoes in the room.
The moment I entered the hotel, it was nothing but a time shift back to the 1900s, it had 2 massive courtyards and the rooms were simply fabulous, I had taken a deluxe room with a private bathroom, and the bathroom was a huge one with a neatly maintained closet and floor. I spent a day inside Broadlands exploring multiple places inside (There is a lot more to explore). If you are visiting Chennai and want to stay at a great location with utmost peacefulness, then Broadlands is the place for you.
RR Mount Elite Suites is a great place to stay in Chennai! The room was absolutely amazing – very spacious, comfortable, clean, had a lot of natural light and everything you might need, including a kettle, tea and coffee, water bottles, cupboards, good WiFi, etc. The AC worked well too and staff members have all been very kind and helpful! The hotel is just a 3 min walk from LIC metro station, and you can easily get Uber rides from the hotel. I would definitely stay there again!
Hotel Grand Residence located in the Porur area of Chennai is a nice clean comfortable hotel. It is not a luxury hotel (there aren’t too many luxury hotels in Chennai anyhow) but a nice hotel in its own accord. Look this hotel is safe especially for a western traveller. Their onsite restaurant is good. I actually stayed for over 3 weeks. As far as pricing, their walk-in rates are cheaper. Book for a day and negotiate a better price for an extended stay.
I had a wonderful experience at the GT Grade...Rooms are neat and clean...very comfortable.... it was awesome...Staff's was amazing and polite... they went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable...The service was exceptional as well...the Front office staff were well trained...this was the top hotel in Chennai...one more thing...In Restaurant facility also available...it alsooo tasty and spicy on budget price... Everything awesome...
We booked the hotel for two nights in Chennai and found a very comfortable and good place .
Staff was very friendly, as no fridge in the room you can keep things in the fridge at the reception.
According to my wish they gave us a quiet room upper floor , so we had a nice city view from the room .
Restaurant for breakfast Inside , others and shops
available walking distance in a safe area.
Transport options available.
There was nothing to like about this hotel. It is located in an area of Chennai that is filthy with trash on the streets and in the back alleys. Literally, there is trash everywhere you walk immediately outside the front door of the hotel. Travelers should know this in advance of making a reservation. The neighborhood where the hotel is located is filthy and gross. The hotel itself is no better than a 2 star.
I stayed with my family. We feel Comfort, Calm and everything perfect. I booked with 2 meals.
We enjoyed dinner with lot of variety food. Breakfast also superb. Tariff also affordable. Kids enjoyed playground.
We stayed last 3days few 5 star hotels around mamallapuram and chennai. This is the best hotel and we like to come back again.
The manager and staff at RMC are kind, attentive and courteous. They helped us with anything we needed during our stay. They were sweet and friendly to our children. The hotel is right in the busy streets of Besant Nagar, very close to Besant Nagar Beach, shopping, and dining. I will stay here every time I come to Chennai.
I went to chennai for my husband's operation, the hotel stuff and ambience made my stay in chennai comfortable and relaxing. The stuffs are really nice, if you are looking for a good and clean hotel in budget, I would suggest to stay there. If I ever get a chance to go to chennai I am going to stay there definitely.
Best Hotel in Chennai... Rooms are clean. Nice and friendly staff... Buffet Dinner was worth paying 😋 👌 all of our family members enjoy staying here... I use to travel Around India & most hotels show different pictures. But this is Real they have and they post... keep it up Guys 👦
hotel staff particular reception girl .My wife and I often stay at this hotel when we come to Chennai ,The girl at the reception often looks at my wife as a model and I don't like it at all.If a guest comes to your hotel, treat them well and that's enough
It was one of the best hotels in Chennai. The housekeeping staff really does a fantastic work to keep the rooms spotless. All the staff are amazing with their behaviour and willingness to help.
Highly recommended for travellers to stay at this hotel.
This is by far the most great hotel I ever stayed in Chennai. Compact and worth the money spent. Everything is proper and maintained cleanly.
Spacious, amenities are provided and good. Breakfast is buffet and included, parking facilities etc
The hotel is very close to Chennai Airport.
It’s very clean and modern. The bed is extremely comfortable.
Lots of little extras such as water, fruit, snacks.
The staff couldn’t do enough for you.
This is the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in Chennai . The downtown area on Main Street is a best kept secret and the G silver offers everything you need if you don’t feel like venturing out.
